Project Manager
to join our team for a major field-based project in the Alberta oil sands. This position will be essential in supporting our operations and ensuring that construction and logistical standards are consistently upheld across all aspects of the project. The Project Manager will work closely with BAT's leadership team, clients, contractors, and internal staff to ensure the successful planning, execution, and close-out of field projects. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to proactively solve problems in dynamic environments. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in construction operations, contractor management, scheduling, and logistics -- with prior work in the Alberta oil sands or similar remote, heavy civil settings given preference.

Key Responsibilities
Track and report project progress, schedule adherence, and cost performance.
Coordinate project logistics, workforce scheduling, equipment, and material requirements.
Review and manage contract terms and client deliverables.
Ensure all site activities align with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Liaise with site crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and head office to ensure seamless operations.
Lead on-site project meetings and ensure clear communication of scope, schedule, and expectations.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring project alignment and satisfaction.
Identify risks, mitigate delays, and proactively resolve issues in the field.
Monitor production metrics and drive operational efficiencies.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and safety.
Support the preparation and processing of change orders, RFIs, and other key project documentation.
Oversee project documentation, including progress reports, daily logs, and meeting records.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, client, and internal reporting requirements.
Manage subcontractor and vendor performance; ensure adherence to schedule and contract terms.
Support or lead the close-out process, including deficiencies, warranty tracking, and final reporting.
Mentor and support site team members, contributing to skill development and strong team culture.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum
5 years of experience
in Project Management in a construction or industrial environment.
Prior experience in the
Alberta oil sands
or similar heavy civil/energy sectors is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of construction operations, logistics, safety protocols, and contractor management.
PMP certification
is an asset.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to work in a
remote site environment
on a rotational schedule.
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to Northern Alberta for scheduled rotations.
