: In January 2020, Langara College migrated its HR and Finance operations to a cloud-based Workday ERP platform. Langara is moving into an exciting new phase of transforming its Student Information Systems (SIS) through a suite of solutions, including the Workday Student product.

The role of the Project Manager, ERP Process and Testing is to plan, execute, document, and finalize configuration set up, data and process testing according to strict project deadlines within the Student Information Systems (SIS) Program. While this position facilitates the entire project development cycle, the focus of this role is to manage the project testing cycle including planning, execution and closing stages. This includes allocating resources and coordinating the efforts of testers, team members, other departments\xe2\x80\x99 resources, and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager, ERP Process and Testing will also define testing scope and oversee quality control throughout the testing life cycle for various projects.

This role is customer-focused and will manage the project testing activities to embed best practices and to deliver value to the Langara Community. This role oversees a team of Business Analysts and Testing Analysts within the project management workstream, and is responsible for developing test plans and schedules, assigning responsibilities, identifying resource needs, managing risks and issues, monitoring quality of deliverables, and ensuring usage of established project tools. The Project Manager, ERP Process and Testing provides regular status reports and coordinates communication and dependencies between PMO, Technical, Functional and Organizational Change Management workstreams.

Qualifications Required:

Education & Experience

  • University degree in computing science, engineering, or related technology field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • ISTQB Certification is preferred.
  • Experience in developing and communicating a comprehensive test strategy, test plans and test management approach to multiple test cycles across multiple projects in partnership with functional, technical, project work streams as well as implementation partners.
  • Excellent testing leadership experience in cloud implementation projects in a higher education environment preferred.
  • Eight (8) years of work experience as a Project Manager, leading projects in software development environments, including:
  • 5+ years experience with project management software, such as Microsoft Project or similar tools
  • 5+ years experience with spreadsheet tools such as Microsoft Excel and with diagram and flowcharting software such as Microsoft Visio.
  • Experience implementing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solutions, ideally in a cloud-based environment.
  • Experience implementing COTS (Commercial Off The Shelf Software) packages.
  • Productivity tools such as Confluence, Jira, JAMA, SVN, SharePoint, Visio, BPM tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with agile and iterative software development methodologies.
  • Experience with all aspects of process development and execution.
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel management.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Salary Range: $49.15 - $72.09 per hour

Pay Grade: Admin Paygrade 11

Compensation beyond the mid-point requires approval by the Public Sector Employers\xe2\x80\x99 Council Secretariat (PSEC).

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 35

Hours may vary according to the needs of the department.
