About the opportunity:



The Senior Engineer (Project Engineering Manager) will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and execution of various engineering projects within our manufacturing plant. This role requires a strong foundation in engineering principles, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.

The attributes we are looking for:



Lead the development CAPEX project plans (anywhere from small to medium to large scale projects), timelines, and budgets. Coordinate resources and ensure adherence to project milestones and deadlines.

Coach, mentor, and develop junior engineers, providing guidance, feedback, and support to help them grow and succeed in their roles.

Utilize engineering expertise to conceptualize, design, and evaluate manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems. Perform feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to support decision-making.

Prepare comprehensive engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, and technical reports. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Identify potential risks and challenges associated with project execution. Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize disruptions and ensure project success.

Work closely with other departments, including production, maintenance, and procurement, to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and alignment. Communicate project updates and provide technical support as needed.

Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to source materials, equipment, and services required for project implementation. Evaluate vendor proposals and negotiate contracts to secure the best value for the organization. Work with municipalities to obtain permits where applicable.

Implement quality control measures to uphold product standards and specifications. Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with quality requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency, productivity, and safety. Identify opportunities for innovation and optimization to drive cost savings and competitive advantage.

What you will bring:



Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).

2-8 years of progressive experience in engineering roles, with a demonstrated track record of achievement.

Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng) (nice to have)

Strong technical proficiency in engineering principles, including design, analysis, and problem-solving.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Solid organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and best practices in manufacturing engineering.

Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools.
