About Voith Paper Voith Paper is part of the Voith Group. With its multiple locations across North America, Voith Paper serves top-tier customers in the paper manufacturing industry. Our Hawkesbury facility operates since 1985, where our teams perform the mechanical maintenance and the manufacturing of roll covers for the paper machine rolls. These steel rolls, that weigh as much as 50 tons, are of very high precision to be used for papermaking. About the role

At Voith Paper, Project Managers are involved from the very beginning, to sell the service to our customers, all the way to the very end, making sure the component meets quality standards before shipping. They are \xe2\x80\x9cinternal sales persons\xe2\x80\x9d, as they work with our outside sales representatives and use their expertise to recommend repairs as well as upgrades to help our customers maximize the performance of their paper machines. For example, they can recommend upgrades to reduce water consumption, or to increase the life of the bearings or the seals.

As a Project Manager, you will use your technical skills to design and fabricate components. You would have to learn all about paper machinery and the rolls themselves. There are so many solutions, it\'s always a brand-new thing! Our clients are top-tier paper manufacturer, and we really offer them a custom experience each time.

What you can expect to do as a Project Manager:

  • Receive and ensure timely response to all incoming calls and e-mails from customers.
  • Provide internal support to the sales/service representatives in all the assigned accounts in the region;
  • Prepare, issue, and distribute quotations based on effective roll cover and mechanical price list for Voith products and services;
  • Issue and distribute official order acknowledgement promptly upon receipt of electronic or written order, after contract review including verification of technical data, specifications, price and delivery. Issue and distribute change orders;
  • Perform roll inspection, troubleshoot problems, and determine potential upgrades to enhance performance of the roll. Prepare and issue roll inspection reports;
  • Issue work orders to production;
  • Attend scheduling meetings, maintain a list of outstanding orders and monitor the delivery status with production. Advise customers and field representatives of change in delivery;
  • Issue required documentation to accounting allowing for invoicing on day of shipment;
  • Receive and initiate appropriate action to respond to complaints;
  • Participate, when required, in investigation and discussion of product claims according to the established Claims Handling Procedures;
  • Perform account visits according to the determined frequency, and with due regard to the customers\' procedures and preferences;
  • Acquire adequate technical knowledge on Voith products, services, and applications to allow for effective sales discussion and product presentation.
Our ideal candidate must:
  • Possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred). Other engineering degrees in the automotive, mining, or aerospace fields would be considered.
  • OR possess a technical degree with experience in the paper industry would be considered as minimum.
  • Possess excellent customer-relations and interpersonal skills - you manage the customer relationship from A to Z;
  • Be bilingual in French and English to work in partnership with our customers in both languages (written and oral communication);
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Be well organized, a self-starter, and with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Have the ability to work under time restraints and prioritize rush work, multiple tasks and demands as required;
  • Be able to deal with frequent changes, delays, changes in priorities and unexpected events;
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver\'s license.
  • Have no limitation to travel domestically and to the United States (10% travel).
