The vision for Integrated Infrastructure Services (IIS) is to inspire trust among citizens and Council in our commitment and ability to deliver quality infrastructure. An important component of that commitment is incorporating a lifecycle approach to the planning, design and delivery of that infrastructure.
As part of the Transportation Asset Management team within the Lifecycle Management section, the Project Manager will be responsible for managing asset management & lifecycle related projects, developing renewal projects for implementation by IIS planning & design and delivery business partners, participating as part of project teams to provide lifecycle subject matter expertise and supporting the development and implementation of the City's facilities capital renewal program. Working in an integrated business model, here is a brief overview of what you are accountable for:
Lead and manage asset management & lifecycle related projects, which include guiding and coordinating the work of consultants and contractors and manage, monitor and report on progress and project health through detailed plans and schedules, ensuring the projects are on budget, on schedule, within the defined scope and quality, and in accordance with Project Management methodology, City policies, processes and procedures, as well as regulatory and legislative requirements
Manage the development of renewal project scope, schedule and budget to the point that they are ready to be implemented by IIS Planning & Design business partners
Manage the procurement and contract processes, including request for proposal documents, review of proposals and recommendations for acceptance
Develop project related reports for Council, Executive Leadership Team, IIS Leadership Team, and others as required
Operate with a high degree of influence and effectiveness, achieved through collaboration and maximizing the contribution of all stakeholders
Develop and implement communication plans, including project inquiry response, and robust public and stakeholder engagement processes and activities, in collaboration with Communications & Engagement
Chair and/or participate in liaison and steering committee meetings, site meetings and other project related meetings
Contribute to the design, implementation and continuous improvement of project management processes and practices, including actively participating in the development and documentation of project lessons learned and risk management, demonstrating and accounting for impact to the City and the business partner
Lead multi-disciplinary teams consisting of consultants, contractors, business partners and stakeholders, including ensuring team members are empowered, have the competencies and are well equipped to succeed in their roles
Establish, exemplify and hold others accountable to the desired culture and values throughout the project teams that supports the IIS Vision and Mission as well as the Corporate Leadership Principles

Qualifications
:A Degree in a related field, such as Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Business or Project Management and a minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in project management OR;
A Diploma in a related field, such as Engineering, Construction, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Project Management or Trade Certification and a minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in project management
Skills Required:
Comprehensive understanding of design, construction and operation related to architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and landscaping disciplines
Strong project management skills, including an understanding of project management methods and techniques (PMBOK best practices) Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of projects
Proven planning, organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to meet deadlines and work under public pressures
Strong knowledge of asset and data management practices
Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills with experience in solving complex and sensitive issues
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation, report writing and presenting
Demonstrated ability and willingness to develop strong relationships and work in a collaborative, integrated manner
Experience managing and working with external consultants
Ability and willingness to delegate and empower others
Knowledge of relevant codes, legislation, regulations, policies and procedures (OH&S, Environmental, Builders Lien Act, etc.)
Proven planning and organizational skills to manage program delivery, financial and human resources to achieve deliverables

Assets:
Coursework/training in project management, financial management,/asset management, data management and leadership training
Completion of an Asset Management Professional designation, Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or Membership with the Canadian Network of Asset Managers (CNAM)
Conditions of employment:
Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver's permit is a requirement of this position
Work Environment:
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52.
The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change in the future. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement, and the incumbent will be notified in advance.
