About nesto and Nesto Cloud

Nesto is Canada's leading provider of mortgage technology and financing solutions, managing $73B+ CAD in residential and commercial mortgages, with 1,000+ team members across 12 offices nationwide. You will be working on Nesto Cloud, Canada's most advanced cloud platform, delivering end-to-end technology solutions for lenders in the digital age.

About the role

As a Project Manager, Data, you'll join our rapidly expanding Data team, reporting directly to the VP of Data Engineering. Our team has grown significantly, from 2 to over 9 members in 4.5 years, with team members working remotely across Canada. The role offers location flexibility across Canada, with a preference for occasional in-person working sessions in our Montreal office.

This new role is designed to be the central hub for managing the Data team's workflow. You will be responsible for streamlining the intake, triage, and prioritization of a high volume of data requests originating from various departments in order to drive efficiency and accelerate delivery. Ultimately, you will reduce the operational load on the data team, significantly improve visibility on priorities and timelines, and enable fast, time-sensitive decision-making across the entire business.

What you'll be doing

Lead Agile delivery for the Data Team's end-to-end projects, driving Scrum/Agile and consistently enabling fast, time-sensitive decision-making. Own the sprint backlog, managing the intake, triage, and prioritization of all cross-department data requests from various internal stakeholders. Facilitate core Agile ceremonies, including backlog grooming and sprint planning, to ensure clear direction and alignment for the Data and Engineering teams. Act as the key liaison, expertly translating technical feasibility and distinguishing/rerouting data versus front-end/back-end issues between business and technical units. Create and maintain clear Jira tickets and project documentation, ensuring all technical and business requirements are well-defined and understood. Track, monitor, and report project status, risks, dependencies, and issues to leadership using visible boards and dashboards for proactive decision-making. Support crucial operational tasks (e.g., managing daily file sharing for external partners) and foster a high-performing, team-first culture.

Who we are looking for

Minimum 2+ years of experience in Project Management experience. Experience in a tech-driven environment and exposure to technical teams (data, engineering, etc.) Proven experience working within Scrum/Agile frameworks (sprint planning, grooming, ticket creation). Experience with project management tools, specifically Jira is essential. Accountability and detail orientation. Strong collaboration with active listening and a solution-focused mindset.

Preferred (but not a must)

High-level understanding of data concepts; familiarity with SQL, Python, and data dashboards; understands how data and other technical teams (Engineering) operate. Experience working in highly regulated industries or with data privacy/security considerations Bilingualism (French/English). Located in the Greater Montreal area to occasionally meet with team members in office.

The Reward

The A-Team:

Work alongside high-performing talent in the industry.

Accelerated Growth:

The slope of your learning curve here will be vertical. You will touch more production systems in one year than you would in five years at a bank.

Top-Tier Coverage:

Premium benefits plan fully paid by nesto, including comprehensive insurance and unlimited access to telemedicine and mental health services for you and your family.

Rest & Recharge:

4 weeks of vacation to ensure you stay at peak performance.

Best-in-Class Tools:

Access to the resources and tech you need to execute without friction.

Working framework:

the environment that makes you productive and enables teamwork.

Diversity & Inclusion

At nesto, we believe that creativity and collaboration are the result of a diverse team. We are committed to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and we strongly encourage women, people of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and individuals with disabilities to apply. We are committed to creating a workplace that is inclusive and welcoming to all.
