to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple civil and ICI construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project lifecycle, ensuring cost, schedule, quality, and safety objectives are achieved. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Review all project specifications, drawings, and construction requirements before mobilization.
Develop, monitor, and update project schedules in line with contract stipulations and progress.
Attend pre-construction and stakeholder meetings, maintaining clear and regular communication with all parties.
Prepare and update progress certificates in consultation with the Site Superintendent.
Oversee project documentation management, mentoring project coordinators to ensure accurate records are maintained.
Review and approve supplier and subcontractor payment applications, ensuring compliance with agreements.
Collaborate with the accounting department to monitor project budgets and financial performance.
Review and submit shop drawings and related documents for approvals.
Work with project teams to resolve design challenges and adjust schedules when necessary.
Manage project legal issues, including claims and disputes.
Lead project close-out activities, including assessments and debriefs.
Ensure overall project performance meets cost, schedule, quality, and contractual requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering, or post-secondary education in a construction-related field.
8-10 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager.
Proven municipal, subdivision, and ICI project experience (required).
Experience in design-build and alternative procurement methods (asset).
Strong background in heavy civil work, including sewer/watermain, earthworks, roadworks, and bridges.
Exceptional time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership, negotiation, and team collaboration skills.
In-depth knowledge of industry best practices and standards.
Ability and willingness to travel for site visits as required.
