Our client, a thriving and well-respected Manitoba organization is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Civil/Structural Technologist to join their growing team, due to expansion of infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the Director, Infrastructure, the Project Manager will manage the delivery of capital construction and maintenance project activities of varying size and complexity. The Project Manager will plan, assess, rehabilitate, constructure, maintain infrastructure projects in a high quality, timely, and cost-efficient manner.

Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support capital projects providing design services, contract administration, technical expertise, and support projects and operations
  • Manage performance of projects and provide status reporting on work-in-progress, cost control, safety, risk, quality, and schedule
  • Manage all phases of project implementation including design development, project planning and coordination, public tenders, procurement, construction management and contract administration
  • Develop tender and proposal solicitations for execution of design and construction projects
  • Manage the work of contractors, subcontractors, consultants, internal staff and other service providers and supervisor and mentor project support staff
  • Produce designs for civil infrastructure in AutoCad Civil 3D
  • Monitor work to ensure compliance with government regulations, laws, rules, specifications and procedures
  • Manage and interpret contracts for enforcement - documents, specifications, drawings and schedules
  • Negotiate and request major purchase orders, progress payments, monitor project progress, payment certifications and schedule conformance.
  • Conduct inspections on sites and layout
Project Manager Qualifications:
  • Post secondary Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, PMP certification, or related technical discipline
  • 5-8 years\' experience managing complex civil or building construction projects
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering design, quality management processes, budgeting and project management
  • Contract management experience in design/construction, with experience in heavy construction industry
  • Understanding of civil infrastructure, pavement design, building systems, building materials, construction regulations, codes and by-laws
  • Demonstrated design experience with municipal and civil infrastructure
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team setting
  • Strong planning, organization and time management skills, with ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and budgets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills with proven track record of building effective relationships with airport staff, key stakeholders, consultants, contractors and the public
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Project.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in outdoor conditions periodically
  • Must possess a current Class 5 Manitoba Driver\'s license
  • Certification in project management, building code, construction contract administration, specification and LEED are assets
