Project Manager



The Project Manager will report directly to the Operations Manager, working closely with our Field Installation team and Operations Assistant. They will be a key player within the Operations department accountable for successful executing projects on time and on budget.

The role involves significant daily communication and collaboration with the team, will include pre- mobilization coordination, on site installation kick-offs and presence on site during critical days of installation, as well as post-installation follow-ups, and significant client communications.

Requirements
Applicant should have previous experience of a minimum 3 years as a Project Manager.
Applicant must have a license in good standing.
Good attitude and initiative are requirements.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
Previous flooring experience is not required, we will teach you the trade.

Here are specific roles and responsibilities for a Project Manager.

1. Project Planning:



Collaborate with sales and estimating team, the client or general contractor to define project objectives, scope, and flooring specifications. Develop a detailed project plan, including a timeline, budget, and resource allocation for the installation. Identify potential flooring-related risks, such as weather issues, substrate issues or material delivery delays, and create a risk management plan. Set clear quality standards for the flooring work and establish success criteria based on the project's specifications. Coordinate mock-ups or sample approval process with client Develop a post installation floor protection plan

2. Flooring Team Leadership:



Select a competent Team leader and install team for the project. Assign specific roles and responsibilities to flooring team members, such as surface preparation, epoxy application, and quality control. Ensure that the flooring team works cohesively and effectively, meeting project milestones. Address any conflicts or issues within the flooring team promptly and professionally.

3. Flooring Execution:



Oversee the execution of the concrete placement, finishing and saw cutting, surface preparation, coating or polishing application, and curing processes. Monitor the progress of the flooring installations and ensure they adhere to project specifications and quality standards. Optimize resource allocation by coordinating the scheduling of flooring crews and materials Track expenses related to labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to stay within the allocated budget.

4. Flooring Quality Assurance:



Define and uphold the quality standards for concrete and epoxy flooring installations. Conduct regular quality inspections to ensure that the flooring work meets industry standards and client expectations. Implement quality control measures, including adhesion tests, thickness measurements, and surface finish evaluations as necessary. Address any defects or non-conformities promptly and work to rectify them.

5. Stakeholder Communication:



Maintain open and effective communication with the client, general contractor, and Senior Manager. Provide frequent updates on the flooring project's progress, highlighting key milestones and any deviations from the budget and plan. Conduct weekly meetings with Team leads / Foreman to communicate key milestones, budgets and quality objectives Address any client concerns or change requests related to the flooring work. Seek feedback from stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and gather input for improvements.

6. Change Management:



Evaluate and manage changes to the flooring project scope, such as additional areas or design modifications. Assess the impact of changes on the project timeline, budget, and resource allocation. Communicate and gain approval for flooring-related changes from relevant stakeholders. Document and track changes to maintain project transparency and accountability.

7. Reporting and Documentation:



Maintain detailed records of all flooring-related activities, including plans, schedules, and quality control reports. Document decisions, issues, and action items related to the flooring work. Prepare and deliver regular flooring status reports to stakeholders, highlighting progress and any deviations from the plan. Archive all flooring documentation for reference and warranty purposes.

8. Closure and Evaluation:



Ensure the successful completion of the flooring installations and that they meet the client's specifications and expectations. Conduct a post-project evaluation of the flooring work, highlighting successes and areas for improvement. Obtain feedback from flooring team members and clients to learn from the project and make necessary adjustments for future projects. Archive all flooring documentation and lessons learned to inform future flooring projects.

9. Legal and Ethical Compliance:



Ensure that the flooring project complies with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements. Uphold ethical standards in all flooring-related activities, including materials sourcing and disposal. Address any legal or ethical issues that may arise during the flooring project, such as environmental permits or safety violations.

Hours of Work:



Time to be split between the office and field, visiting projects / clients as requested by management. Availability by phone / email evenings / weekends as necessary to support field team Occasional out of town project kick off, pre-install coordination, or post-install follow-ups. Salaried position ranging from $80k-$100k depending on experience.

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
