is responsible for take offs and submission of bids, set up of new jobs, pricing of change orders, monthly progress billings, coordination of scheduling requests/milestones and assist account receivables in collection of money as required.
The Project Manager is an individual who takes ownership of a project, uses strategic thinking and can produce a winning submission.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Estimating:
Take off quantities and producing bid in estimating system.
Request for materials, bonding and subcontractors.
Confirmation of whom we are proving pricing to and what the scope(s) of work will be.
Scope review with business unit managers/superintendents as required.
Review completed bids with management for mark ups, productions, etc.
Confirmation of low material supplier and subcontractors in consolation with management
Bid submittal follow up.
2. Project Management Set Up:
Notification of operations, safety, office and accounting of new job.
Confirmation material suppliers and subcontractors and issuing of PO's in conjunction with accounting.
Set up of new job cards, contracts folder, complete with drawings, as required and job costing in conjunction with accounting.
Submittals for bonding, Indemnification Request, Excavation Permits.
Review of contracts in conjunction with Management.
Coordination of scheduling requests/ milestones in conjunction with field operations.
Hand off meeting with business unit managers and superintendents.
3. Project Management Job Requirements:
Hand off meeting onsite with operations first day scope of work is starting.
Pricing of change order requests in a timely manner.
Follow up on change order pricing.
Change order communication with operations and clients project manager.
You will attend all sub trade meetings at the request of field Superintendent/Foreman or Foreman/Superintendents are not available. If the General Contractor is providing minutes, you must review and comment accordingly. If they are not being taken, you must record minutes for the work pertaining to Professional Excavators & Construction and forward them to all parties. If Professional Excavators & Construction is the Prime Contractor then whoever is chairing the meeting will ensure minutes are taken and distributed to all parties.
Project manager is responsible for all subcontractors, i.e. (electricians, signage, demolition, landscapers.) on site with the exception of those that are under direct supervision of other business units; in conjunction with operations as deemed necessary.
4. Quality Control:
Uphold the company image. Ensure our people are acting professionally, equipment is properly maintained.
Ensure issuance of change orders in a timely manner - 1 month maximum lead time on invoicing agreed to hourly work and change order requests completed.
Ensure deficiencies are minimized and corrected in a reasonable time.
Ensures products meet the required specifications and that the products don't exceed specification that will adversely affect the profitability of the company.
Must ensure that a QA-QC report is made out by PE business units with appropriate and responsible party before our own forces are leaving site.
5. Administration and Billing:
Maintain a full understanding of all project contracts with the support of the Operations, including: specifications, schedule, scope of work inclusion/exclusions, job card detail, job progress to date and safety.
Site visit and/or conversation with foreman/superintendents to determine project progress to the end of the month for invoicing.
Prepare monthly invoicing for contract work and change orders.
Monthly invoicing tracking spreadsheet.
Submit invoicing to accounting for processing including all required back up and submittals.
Confirmation of acceptance of monthly progress for client.
Site visit and/or conversation with foreman/superintendents to determine actual completion to end of month for accruals.
Accruals submitted to accounting by the end of the first week of the following month.
Review of customer job ticket tracking sheet to remove all hourly tickets void or invoiced the previous month.
Job costing review in conjunction with accounting and management for the previous month based on invoiced progress claims.
Assistance to accounting receivables in collection as required.
6. Training and Mentors:
Provides leadership, mentoring, guidance and recruitment opportunities to subordinates and other employees. Monitor marketplace for recruitment possibilities that will support growth of organization.
Ensures seasoned employees are kept up to date in project requirements and initiatives with new skill requirement training where needed.
Maintains a fair and consistent accountability towards the rules and disciplinary actions of the company.
Monitors self professional development. Takes personal improvement courses such as: team building, communication, time management, program training, etc.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education
: A diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
:
Minimum 10 years of experience as an Project Manager or in a similar role.
Advanced knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction or related industry experience is a strong asset
Technical Proficiency
: Advanced MS Office user (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) with hands-on experience in project-delivery and document-control platforms, including HeavyBid for estimating and HeavyJob for project management.
Communication
: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively between multiple stakeholders.
Organization & Detail-Oriented
: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

: Proactive approach to identifying challenges and proposing solutions.
Teamwork
