Summary
We are seeking a
Project Manager
to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible to successfully lead assigned projects through the design phase, working with customers, customer requirements and specifications to ensure on time delivery, on budget performance and guarantee customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Taking on and managing multiple projects.
Meeting customer expectations, specifications, and costs.
Immediately advise Sales group of variances to turnover on projects ensuring that non-quoted activities are captured and commercially resolved prior to moving forward on the changes.
Communicating with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
Recognize project risks and ensure that mitigation strategies are in place to reduce the risk
Recognize project opportunities and exploit for the benefit of the project result.
Promptly communicate all issues and changes that could impact the project schedule or scope to the Operations Manager
Track against project budgets advising of potential overages, developing mitigation strategies to ensure on budget project performance
Ensure on time, on budget and customer satisfaction on all projects
Regular monitoring of project schedules, ensuring on time delivery of drawings, holding the purchasing and manufacturing team to required deliveries.
Issue drawings to the shop for fabrication in accordance with schedule requirements.
Requisition material in accordance with schedule requirements
Advise of schedule risks as they are known and work to develop mitigation strategies
Provide routine schedule updates to customers, holding customers accountable for required deliverables
Immediately advise the operations manager of delays in customer performance against the schedule
Managing documentation: Material Requisitions. BOM's. Transmittal of documents: customer and shop. Master ship lists. Paint specifications. Cost extras. Etc.
Prepare shop drawings using AutoCAD/Solid Works/ Stru-CAD as required.
Adhere to drafting standards, software, processes, polices and procedures, while adapting them to varied conditions required by customers.
Modelling of ducting, structural steel and systems.
Check the work of other detailers as required.
Checking drawings and documents for accuracy, manufacturability, and completion
Follow the developed CPF Engineering Standards to ensure consistency in all company efforts.
Check, review and organize drawing packages to meet detailing standards.
Prepare work orders and bills of material.
Assist the manufacturing team during the execution of projects when question or issues arise
Regularly meet with the lead supervisor and team lead to establish open communication throughout the project life cycle.
Work with the quality team to define project expectations, required testing and ITP development
Work with the purchasing team to ensure customer specifications are met, and material delivery requirements are met
Work with the quality department to ensure project NCRs are created, dispositioned and corrective actions are in place
Identify potentially disruptive weld joint configurations to ensure adequate time for procedure development or resolution in design
Travelling to other CPF shops, jobsites, customers, suppliers and/or contractors/sub-contractors as required.
Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
Mechanical / Civil / Industrial engineering technician / technologist
Self motivated, self starter with good communication skills,
Knowledge in steel fabrication, welding.
7+ years of work experience.
Proficient of Cad tools: Acad, Solidworks and/or Stru-Cad.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel & word.
Ability to read blueprints.
Excellent drafting skills
Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
