Job Summary:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Manager (Special Projects) is responsible for directly leading, managing, and executing the supply and installation of building automation system projects and is accountable for the full implementation of a team of professionals regarding installation, engineering design, graphic generation, programming, commissioning, and client training. This includes strong leadership skills, financial management, time and organization management, and the ability to liaise with all levels of the client experience. This position commands flexible working hours as per various project requirements and working with external parties (consultants/commissioning agents, contractors, clients, etc.) to ensure project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in pre-bid reviews and turnover meetings to verify sales estimates and project scope.
Review plans, contracts, and codes to determine project requirements and ensure alignment with company standards.
Develop and manage project plans, monitoring progress and financial performance to meet execution goals.
Oversee engineering re-estimates, cost control, forecasting, and billing, ensuring timely collections and payments.
Evaluate existing HVAC/BAS systems, recommend technical solutions, and support project installation, commissioning, and testing.
Lead project close-out activities, including documentation, As-Builts, and final customer deliverables.
Ensure compliance with OHS Safety Program requirements and participate in team safety and business meetings.
Support sales through lead generation and identify additional revenue opportunities within customer accounts.
Build strong client relationships, demonstrating technical expertise and promoting trust and loyalty.
Lead by example, upholding Ainsworth's corporate values in all activities.
Qualifications:
5-10 years' experience in mechanical projects management. Trade certification or PMP an asset.
Effective customer service as well as verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with MS Office applications; Procore, AutoCAD, JDE and Excel.
Demonstrated coordination, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
Ability to multi-task, work within a fast-paced environment, and prioritize conflicting demands.
Valid Alberta Driver's License.
Able to pass security clearance checks for secure access facilities.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and motivate field technical employees.
Effectively manage and supervise subcontractors.
