Northgate Industries Ltd is seeking a dynamic, detailed oriented and agile Project Manager to become a member of our highly motivated operations team. The successful candidate will assume the role of Project Manager in our Acheson, Alberta office. The Project Manager role is critical to the successful manufacturing and installation of a multitude of modular designs throughout Canada. The position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the project between sales, design, estimating, manufacturing and installation and is a critical interface between departments that manages internal activities with all stakeholders to ensure all projects are completed to potential. The position reports to the Vice President of Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with project team to ensure successful project execution and completion.
Initiate and coordinate initial kick off meeting for new projects with relevant stakeholders.
Complete new project set up and track all documentation, payments, prepare/execute change orders
Attend all regular meetings, record meeting minutes, present updates to clients and stakeholderso
Maintain documentation and electronic project files as required for project administration.
o Define SOW's as they apply to change orders and some WIP
o Assessing cost and schedule impact before reviewing with VP of Operations
o Maintaining and performing project document control and coordinating RFIs, shop drawing and client submittal process, maintaining as-built drawings.
Assisting the team in managing and reporting overall project or select SOW's as they apply to site HSE, cost management, schedule and quality.
Preparing and tracking progress claims and estimates.
Other duties as required
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology/systems.
PMP designation or equivalent experience in a dynamic, fast paced and diverse construction environment
Construction trade certification with equivalent experience and/or construction management designation
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
practical experience with Modular Structure Manufacturing an asset
minimum 5 years of construction experience in an operational role.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with multiple supervisors and sub-trades.
Intermediate knowledge of construction specifications, methods, and procedures. o The successful applicant must be willing take and pass a Pre-Access Alcohol & Drug Test. Travel and mobility will be required.
Class 5 non GDL license, with clean driving abstract.
