Annual salary: $ 107,000.00 - 135,300.00


Position Highlights



T&D System Operations (TDSO) leads the management and operation of two fully redundant control centers, Fraser


Valley Office (FVO) and Southern Interior office (SIO), ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation of the provincial


generation, transmission and distribution systems. The department is also responsible for the development of operating


procedures in consideration of Mandatory Reliability Standards, safety standards, equipment capabilities and


environmental obligations.


What you'll do





This bulletined role is focused on ensuring management of key software internal controls, including but not limited to the


Control Room Operating Window (CROW) application, through activities such as:


Review and implementation of application support practices within TDSO,


Oversight of application support personnel,


Development of application-related training materials,


Data analysis and reporting,


Application environment management,


Application configuration management, and


Application performance monitoring.


The successful candidate will have the following general responsibilities:


Perform day to day management of all aspects to support selected non-CIP applications used by TDSO in support of
Mandatory Reliability Standards (MRS) adherence. Provides guidance, direction and education as an application technical


expert to these applications.




Evaluates software application processes on an ongoing basis, to identify risks in relation to the business processes the
applications support, or as part of assessments of new and revised software internal controls.




Works to develop, document, and implement sustainable processes that are appropriate for the department to manage
and support the selected non-CIP software applications used by TDSO.




Actively monitors the status of reliability and safety standards development applicable to software internal controls used
by TDSO, provides suggestions on changes required to the internal controls, and supports the department through


implementation of new or revised standards.




Responsible for the implementation and sustainment of issue tracking for applicable TDSO software applications. Responsible for providing backup for applicable application owners.

Responsible for reporting to the Compliance Business Unit Coordinator and the management team within T&D System
Operations on current issues with respect to non-CIP applications used by TDSO and future plans.

What you bring




Degree in Engineering or Business relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Over 6 years of relevant experience in T&D system operations, power system asset planning, operation and control,
energy utility design, operations & maintenance, cybersecurity, operational technology, project management, or business


analysis within the electric utility industry is required.




Priority will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in the following particular fields: Experience and knowledge of software application support and processes. Experience and understanding of internal controls including the ability to analyze compliance quality, accuracy and
adequacy.




Excellent collaboration and leadership skills including confidence in public speaking and delivering training/
presentations.




Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to simplify complex technical
details in a manner that is concise and easily understandable to audiences without the same level of business familiarity


or technical competence.




Proven self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as individually.


Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel (pivot tables, formulas), and PowerPoint etc.
