Job Description

The RVH Project Management team supports project teams to successfully complete projects on time, within scope and within budget.
Reporting to the Manager, Project Management Office, the Project Management Lead will provide project management leadership, expertise and training to assist project teams in achieving success using recognized project management standards and best practices. The Project Management Lead will also support operational improvement initiatives using evidence-based quality improvement methodologies to improve patient outcomes and the quality of services.
As the Project Management Lead, you are responsible for the successful development and implementation of projects, leading team resources from across the organization to ensure project objectives are delivered on-time and on-budget according to defined scope, timeline, and cost parameters. The Project Management Lead plans, schedules and controls all project activities toward these objectives, applying technical, theoretical, and managerial skills to satisfy project requirements, while forming and guiding project teams for success and building positive professional relationships with stakeholders. As the Project Management Lead, you will lead multiple projects simultaneously, requiring solid leadership, efficient planning, and effective prioritization skills.
As the Project Management Lead, you will be part of a dynamic and supportive team. Working within an established Project Management Office, the Project Management Lead role supports a combination of Capital Redevelopment, Information Technology, and Operational Improvement projects. RVH is a regional health centre and therefore, projects regularly involve partner hospitals and other healthcare agencies. Access to reliable transportation for travel to partner sites may be required. During critical project implementation periods, the ability to work off-hours and/or non-business hours may be required. Currently, the Project Management Lead position works onsite together with colleagues, project teams and vendors, with an option to work-from-home on a part-time basis as project deliverables allow.
Qualifications:
As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:
Education:

  • 4-year Undergraduate Degree specific to Project Management, Business, Clinical Informatics, or Healthcare
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, or ability to achieve within 12 months of starting role
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or other Continuous Quality Improvement certification preferred
  • Change Management certification an asset
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification an asset
  • Evidence of continuing education in related fields
Experience:
  • 3+ years of project management with proven use of project management tools and techniques
  • 3+ years of experience building and maintaining effective teams and working relationships
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
  • Working knowledge of continuous quality improvement methodologies, tools, and techniques
  • Experience in workflow process mapping
  • Experience in risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Experience in healthcare environment preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
