Purpose:

The Project Information Manager (PIM) holds ultimate responsibility for implementing project systems and the information management strategy as defined by the relevant functional managers, including implementation planning, delivery, management and support to ensure project and customer requirements are met.

This responsibility extends to coordination of Project Delivery Systems across all functions and disciplines, such as Engineering Design Systems, Project Document and Data Management Systems, Engineering Specifications Management, Project Management Systems, Third Party hosted systems, IT Systems and other enterprise systems including IT Infrastructure

Based on project size and complexity the Project Information Manager stewards and participates in the following activities but may not actually perform the work.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishing the Project Information Management Plan.
  • Working with the project management team to identify relevant stakeholders (e.g. customer, partners, contractors, functions, disciplines) and ensure their appropriate input to these key project delivery systems and information management documents.
  • Ensuring the whole project team understands, supports and adheres to the Project Information Management strategy.
  • Defining specific systems implementation plans, scope of work, cost and schedule estimates for all Project Delivery Systems and Information Management related activities.
  • Managing implementation activities and reporting progress against these requirements.
  • Identification of systems training requirements and coordinating delivery of same.
  • Developing and maintaining project-specific systems work practice documentation.
  • Ensuring cross-contractor alignment of work processes and systems.
  • Ensuring effective systems interfaces and optimized work processes.
  • Implementing and enforcing common standards and work practices that facilitate multi-office/company project execution (work-sharing) and electronic data interchange, such as:
  • Project Numbering Systems
  • Plant Breakdown Structure
  • Defining, implementing and managing data storage, database replication and data backup requirements to meet the project\xe2\x80\x99s disaster recovery requirements, in conjunction with the IT Services Coordinator (if assigned).
  • Defining and enforcing processes that ensure appropriate access controls over electronic project data including project data repositories, websites and project file servers.
  • Management of Project collaboration and file sharing facilities.
  • Management of software or technology licensing limitations with respect to export controls or third party access to Worley systems.
  • Building a competent project team for data coordination, systems support and development.
  • Managing the system specialists within the project team.
  • Coordination of systems support and escalated issues resolution, including interfacing with:
  • Project Systems and Engineering Systems groups
  • IT Services Coordinator for IT Systems and Infrastructure delivery and support
  • Software suppliers for support/consultancy, where necessary
  • Customer or third parties for systems interface issues resolution
  • Ensuring compliance with contractually required deliverables and formats.
  • Facilitation of project systems and information management closeout activities. Working with Project Management to evaluate and develop the project\xe2\x80\x99s electronic/hard copy archival procedures.
  • Working directly with customer and project team; identify the Project Delivery Systems, Operating Systems (Digital Twin) and Information Management requirements to meet customer and project expectations; working with relevant functional managers to select and optimize systems and work processes to deliver to these requirements.
  • During facility planning stages, create cost and return options for digitalization options
  • Coordinate setup and implementation of project delivery and operation systems.
  • Coordinate input from systems support specialists during setup
  • Ensure key project participants have timely access to relevant information to facilitate high quality, low cost and shortest schedule project delivery.
Qualifications

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience:
  • Project Management and Engineering Design systems experience on EPC / EPCM projects at Worley or other comparable organizations.
  • Good understanding of the EPC / EPCM industry functional systems, processes and tools.
  • Admin / support experience for 2D and 3D Design tools. Experience with CAD tools configuration e.g. AVEVA E3D, Plant 3D, Smart 3D etc.
  • Working knowledge of 2D and 3D design systems
  • Working knowledge in the use and support of Office 365 (i.e., Microsoft Outlook / Teams / SharePoint / Excel)
  • Expertise in Excel (advance level) and Data Analytics, Power BI etc.
  • 10 years previous Information management coordination experience in an engineering project office.
  • Able to identify issues, problems and opportunities; make timely decisions; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if required.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people. Clear, fluent, and expressive use of verbal and written language to convey information and ideas, strong communication skills to be able to liaise with different departments and levels (including Clients) to ensure all requests are completed accurately and on time.
Education \xe2\x80\x93 Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
  • A recognized degree or equivalent qualification/experience.
