Position Description



Job Title: Project Financial Coordinator

Job Objective:



The Project Finance Coordinator will provide dedicated financial support to the Project Director for the Toronto project, Arena's largest infrastructure delivery for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Acting as the financial right-hand to the Project Director, this role ensures financial data accuracy, supports strategic reporting, and safeguards project profitability through precise tracking of budgets, supplier contracts, and internal cost forecasting. The successful candidate will operate cross-functionally between the Canadian delivery team and the US Finance division.

Key Responsibilities:



Cash Flow Management


a. Build and maintain detailed project cash flow models, updating in real time as supplier contracts are signed.
b. Track contract commitments against forecasts, ensuring full financial visibility.

Project Reporting & Financial Oversight


a. Generate and maintain budget-to-actual reports, highlighting discrepancies and variations from approved forecasts.
b. Deliver monthly P&L summaries and analysis as part of the Project Monitoring & Measurement Process (PMMP).

Cost Tracking and Analysis


a. Maintain detailed breakdowns of staff salaries, overheads, and variations to ensure accurate job costing.
b. Support proactive margin management by identifying early warnings and cost pressures.

Job Profit Estimator (JPE) Updates


a. Own responsibility for updating the Job Profit Estimator across all phases of the project.
b. Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure live accuracy of forecasted profit and financial exposure.

Procurement & Payment Tracking


a. Monitor incoming supplier quotes and purchase orders, ensuring adherence to Delegation of Authority protocols.
b. Liaise with procurement and US finance teams to confirm timely payment to contractors.

Cross-Functional Collaboration


a. Act as the financial bridge between the Toronto delivery team and US-based Finance colleagues.
b. Provide responsive support for ad-hoc reporting, commercial strategy sessions, and risk tracking.

Required Skills/Abilities:



Strong financial acumen with a keen eye for detail and a proactive mindset. Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel; ability to manipulate, model, and analyze large datasets. Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics NAV is essential. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across departments.

Working Arrangements:



AES Canada is based in downtown Toronto and will actively encourage employees to be office based, but flexible working arrangements can be made. However, candidates must be available to work on-site from

October 2025 to March 2026

with limited alternative arrangements. Additionally, the role may require extended hours and weekend work during critical project phases.

Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
