Description





Provide Project Field Engineering services to our nuclear client. This assignment includes delivering technical oversight and support during the construction and installation phases of nuclear projects. Working closely with various teams, including design engineers, construction personnel, and project managers, to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role requires an individual to have strong written and oral communication skills, effective stakeholder management experience, and be detail-oriented, methodical, and collaborative. Working in a dynamic and fast paced environment this individual will be required to be responsive, take initiative, manage multiple priorities and work with minimal direction.


Assignment Details:




Technical Support:

Providing technical guidance and assistance to field construction personnel, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Quality Control:

Ensuring that work meets quality standards, specifications, and regulations.

Documentation:

Maintaining accurate records of installed quantities, completed work, and project documentation.

Problem Solving:

Collaboratively solving engineering issues in the field, acting as a liaison between design engineers and constructors. Strong interpersonal skills.

Project Management:

Supporting construction activities by planning, organizing, and implementing project controls systems, engineering interfaces, and subcontract management. Ability to manage time and budgets on projects and to work on multiple projects in parallel.

Collaboration:

Working with various client departments such as Quality, Purchasing, Construction, Safety, Design Engineering, and Legal.

Procurement:

Providing technical specifications for contract documents and reviewing vendor bids.

Scheduling:

Ensuring that field activities are scheduled and executed efficiently. Working knowledge of Primavera P6.

Reporting & Data Management:

Ability to use advanced spreadsheet software and other related software tools for effective data manipulation and reporting of project status

Education, Experience and Qualifications




Four year university degree in Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, and/or Electrical/I&C Engineering). A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is required in Project Engineering or Project Management PMP certification would be considered an asset. Working knowledge of Nuclear Quality Assurance Standards such as N299 and CSA N286. Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards including but not limited to CSA N285, ASME Section III, Section VIII and B31.1. ASME Section III Appendix XXIII qualification is considered an asset. Demonstrated technical writing experience with a strong focus on quality and schedule. Demonstrated experience in preparation of reports, proposals, recommendations, and presentations for internal and external clients. Demonstrated knowledge of CANDU technology, strong understanding of nuclear power plant design and operation. Experience with developing project schedules and interfacing with project management teams. Nuclear Security Clearance is an asset, it will be required for the assignment
