Job Description



Are you looking for a new role to challenge you? The Project Field Coordinator will be part of the Construction team and work directly under the direction of the Project Manager, Construction in support of the Near Surface Disposal Facility (NSDF) project team. The Project Field Coordinator will provide support and direct oversight to activities within the NSDF team\xe2\x80\x99s scope of work to ensure compliance with the internal Project Management program, Contract Specifications and design requirements. On-site construction position with some hybrid work.
What will you be doing!

  • Actively assisting with the definition, coordination and implementation of the various construction work packages under the scope of services described as pre-construction & construction.
  • Assisting in preparing/reviewing various project documents including Scopes of Work, project schedules, performance metrics and budgets and engineering design.
  • Preparing status updates and track work activities as part of project management and corporate reporting requirements.
  • Requesting Clarification from contractors when required to accurately move project forward.
  • Coordinating contractor submittals (schedules, SOPs, reports, plans, RFIs, procedures, product data, drawings, shop drawings, costs/ invoices) and ensure scope requirements meet contract expectations.
  • Reviewing technical studies and detailed reports prepared by design consultants and other contributing parties to ensure high quality (technical accuracy) and consistency with requirements to CNL technical documentation standards.
  • Continuously improvements-identify process improvement opportunities

  • Tracking deliverables for technical accuracy and adequacy, review cost calculations, and assess need for potential changes in scope, cost, schedule or quality.
  • Reviewing work plans and implementation, champion quality, through both contractor and field oversight.
  • Working on site with the contractor(s) to ensure efficient, safe and compliant delivery of projects

What we are looking for:
  • Knowledge of engineering procedures and practices, organization and quality processes.
  • Good understanding of compliance program requirements and knowledgeable of procurement practices and have some experience in contract management.
  • Knowledge of project management principles (scope, schedule, time, quality, risk) and hands-on experience in the management of engineering activities during the various phases of a project, such as the NSDF (i.e., construction, commissioning, operation and decommissioning).
  • Team player with superior verbal communication and technical writing skills as well as the ability to work effectively with personnel of varying disciplines

  • Minimum of 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in industrial construction with a knowledge of multiple trades.
  • A Bachelor of Engineering Degree, Civil or Environmental, or Bachelor degree in a related scientific area with a minimum of two years of related experience.
  • Post-secondary diploma and up to four years of directly relatable experience in a Construction, Engineering, or Project Management related Scientific Industry.
  • Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat \xe2\x80\x9cStandard on Security Screening\xe2\x80\x9d and the \xe2\x80\x9cPolicy on Government Security\xe2\x80\x9d.
