Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Estimator to join our dynamic team. This position is responsible for leading the estimating function for construction projects, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and timely submission of bids. The ideal candidate combines strong project management capabilities, advanced estimating knowledge, and the ability to engage stakeholders effectively at all levels.

Duties

Coordinate the preparation of estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Utilize software tools such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to create detailed cost estimates and proposals. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to gather necessary information for accurate pricing. Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and negotiate terms. Review plans and specifications to identify potential issues or discrepancies that may impact costs. Maintain organized records of estimates, revisions, and communications throughout the bidding process. Assist in the development of project schedules and timelines as needed. Participate in project meetings to provide updates on estimating progress and address any concerns.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience in construction estimating or a related discipline is preferred. Proficiency with industry-standard estimating software, including HeavyBid and Bluebeam, is highly desirable. Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Exceptional organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail. Capable of managing multiple projects concurrently while consistently meeting deadlines. Knowledge of project management principles is an asset. A background in construction or engineering is favorable, though not required
