Job Summary:

As a Junior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for helping deliver integrated software projects from design to system acceptance. You will work closely with development, QA, and support teams to ensure that customer expectations are met and project deliverables are on time and within budget. The role requires travel within North America and internationally for software commissioning, trade shows, and demonstrations. Successful candidates will be generally outgoing, customer focused, and enjoy playing a key role in delivering quality software which meets the needs of the end users.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • System design and assistance with proposals
  • On-site system commissioning
  • Facilitate project communication and reporting goal status to key stakeholders
  • Design functional specifications and coordinate software release plans
  • Design training materials and provide training classes
  • Quality assurance related to project deliverables
  • Work closely with customers to manage post installation support
  • Support for industry trade shows and demos
  • Travel required up to once to twice per month for one to two weeks \xe2\x80\x93 variable based on project and customer requirements
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • Excellent computer and networking skills, specifically with Microsoft products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be a team player with both internal and external members
  • Work effectively in a dynamic environment where priorities shift frequently
  • Software deployment and troubleshooting
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Ability to travel within Canada, the US, and across the globe including the Middle East
  • Applicants must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be considered for the role as they will be handing ITAR data and products.

Additional Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with software based products
  • Experience with control systems (security, surveillance, access control, SCADA)
  • Experience with security and surveillance hardware (cameras, radars, fence detection, video recording and analytics)
  • IT and network management experience
  • Field service experience
