Position
The Project Engineer will report to the Director of Corporate Engineering while working together with plant & operations key leaders in maintaining Balcan\'s standard of excellence and delivering projects with the utmost attention to safety and quality. The Project Engineer will act as technical expert and will be responsible for overseeing and facilitating project deployment with a collaborative approach and ensuring seamless, efficient, and profitable completion of projects.

Responsibilities

Review project proposals and plans.
Determine project responsibilities by identifying milestones & phases, assigning resources/ personnel, and reviewing bids from contractors/vendors.
Prepare project timelines & planning of resources for engineering and other technical projects & activities deployed at plant levels.
Ensure flow of communication internally and externally regarding job status; plans, changes, expectations and work closely with all stakeholders to ensure requirements and standards are met.
Maintain budgetary, scheduling, and project database oversight, and report on progress on a regular basis and keep the team informed of job progress, plans and problems that could significantly affect costs or schedules.
Determine project & equipment specifications, study design concept, requirements, performance standards, and ensure liaison with contractors & vendors to ensure it fits pre-established specs.
Partner with key stakeholders to implement engineering solutions for increased productivity and quality output.
Support building maintenance & H&S team in project implementation to fulfill our highest safety standards.
Manage project compliance with regards to safety & environment conditions, and quality assurance standards and specifications.
Control project plans & costs by reviewing design and specifications and administering vendors\' contract. If applicable recommend corrective actions.
Requirements

3 to 5 years\' experience in project engineering role.
Bachelor\'s degree in engineering; mechanical, process or industrial engineering preferred.
Previous experience in plastics industry, blown film or flexible packaging converting (asset)
Track record of successful deployment of manufacturing projects (new equipment & in-plant projects).
Working experience with design software such as AutoCAD.
Experience in a multi-site environment - willingness to travel.
Ability to work with a sense of urgency, with a bias for action, in a professional manner, meet deadlines, and provide updates on status.
Fluent in English and French - Oral and written.
