Meerholz Canada Ltd., a leader in industrial equipment services, is seeking a skilled and motivated
Project Engineer
to join our growing team. In this role, you will represent a respected organization by providing on-site inspection, maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting of customer-owned equipment--primarily overhead crane systems. Responsibilities
Evaluate project feasibility, ensuring compliance with contracts and internal standards
Conduct site inspections and evaluations
Develop preliminary designs to support sales initiatives
Participate in engineering design, submittals, and review of subcontractor documentation
Manage field operations and coordinate with contractors (mechanical, electrical, structural)
Oversee all phases of project execution, including quality, safety, and financial performance
Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to ensure timely project delivery
Train new engineering team members as needed
Prepare project documentation, including O&M manuals and as-built drawings
Support the sales team during the bidding process
Respond to emergency service calls and travel to client sites as required
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Structural, Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
P.Eng designation in British Columbia is an asset
Strong knowledge of industrial motor control systems (VFDs, PLCs, etc.)
Proficiency in reading blueprints and electrical diagrams
Familiarity with relevant codes and standards
Experience in industrial construction and project management is preferred
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Experience with overhead and gantry cranes is a plus
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex field issues
Comfortable working in both office and field environments, including at heights or over water
Willingness to travel and respond to emergency calls
