YOUR MISSIONS:
Project Engineering Responsibilities:
Assist and Support:
Provide technical support and leadership to the Project Manager, ensuring effective management of project engineering activities to meet KPIs, safety, budget, scope, schedule, and deliverables.
Team Management:
Oversee and mentor the project engineering team, ensuring high performance, morale, and alignment with the Project Engineering & Design Team's culture.
Planning and Coordination:
Plan, organize, direct, schedule, assign, monitor, and coordinate all engineering activities, resources, and tools to achieve project and business objectives in collaboration with VTEK Engineering Discipline Managers.
Leadership:
Lead a multi-discipline engineering team for the portfolio/project, with support from Discipline Managers.
Safety and Quality:
Ensure all safety and quality requirements are met for the project.
Deliverables and Execution:
Define project engineering deliverables and work with Discipline Engineering Managers to develop execution plans and allocate personnel.
Work Sequence:
Coordinate with the Project Manager and Construction Manager to establish work sequences and deliverables for each engineering discipline at each project phase.
Technical Support:
Provide engineering support to meet all project and construction needs efficiently and effectively.
Data Review:
Review and approve technical data from suppliers and contractors alongside Discipline Engineers.
Contract Management:
Assist in the development, issuance, assessment, and management of quotes, bids, and contracts.
Client Engagement:
Address all technical matters with the client to ensure their needs are met.
Work Package Integration:
Ensure all engineering work packages are complete, integrated, and thorough to meet objectives and quality requirements.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Review work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver integrated engineering work packages.
Policy Implementation:
Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the Project Engineering & Design Team in alignment with VTEK's strategic direction and project objectives.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Experience and Background:
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in
Mechanical
Engineering
A valid P.Eng. title
Proven track record in managing project engineering activities and leading multi-discipline teams
Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute engineering tasks in alignment with project goals and standards
Behaviours:
Effective communicator with strong leadership skills
Ability to maintain high morale and performance within the engineering team
Proactive in identifying and addressing technical issues
Skilled in client engagement and ensuring project deliverables meet quality requirements
Adaptable to evolving project needs and able to implement policies and standards effectively
