YOUR CONTRIBUTION
Upon your arrival, you will support the Project Delivery team in the coordination and management of engineering and design of technical plans and specifications for the fabrication and installation of systems and modules according to the budget and the delivery schedule for the commissioning of a biofuel production plant. You will report to the Project Engineering Director and will manage a multidisciplinary team. Your role and responsibilities will be the following:

  • Is responsible for managing the overall engineering activities, including planning/scheduling, budgets, change management, progress reporting, and coordination with various disciplines
  • Participate in the determination of the project schedule and ensure that the various milestones are met
  • Clearly identify priorities with respect to activities and deliverables on a weekly basis
  • In charge of the quality of the deliverables issued to the project group
  • In charge of producing deliverables in keeping with the schedules and budget
  • Identify resource requirements to project management as well as the issues that need to be addressed
  • In charge of multidisciplinary follow-up and coordination of the detailed design of the project scope, including systems/modules starting from the P&ID issued by the process group
  • Validate the project scope and clarify the boundaries; manage changes throughout the execution of detailed engineering
  • Organize and lead reviews of 3D models and make sure that the elements from all the disciplines have been integrated
  • Make sure that the decisions to be made arising from these reviews are taken quickly and efficiently
  • Actively take part in the mechanical design of systems/modules and direct design objectives
  • Take part in design, review and comment the project cost estimate; be creative in reducing costs (involvement and leadership in the value engineering reviews)
  • Responsible for the work of the projects and the procurement team
  • Support the construction team when required
  • Support the startup and commissioning team when required
  • Understand process functionality and the objectives of the systems and modules
  • Prepare the meeting minutes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or other relevant degree
  • Member of the Ordre des ingenieurs du Quebec
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience, including five (5) years supervising multidisciplinary teams
  • Bilingual, spoken and written (English/French)
  • Experience in supervision or construction/POC management for multidisciplinary projects in the petrochemical or chemical industry
  • Knowledge of the various petrochemical industry standards such as ASME, API, TEMA, , etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Knowledge of metallurgy, welding, structural steel and materials resistance an asset
  • Knowledge of design and calculations for pressure vessels an asset
  • Knowledge of pipe system design an asset
  • Knowledge of Bentley AutoPLANT Suite an asset.
