With head quarters based in Coteau-du-lac, Quebec (west of Montreal), Ronsco Inc. is an industry leading manufacturer and distributor of railcar and locomotive products, operates the largest independent wheelshop in Canada (Hamilton, Ontario), as well as providing railcar and locomotive repair services.
Summary
The Project Engineer will play a critical role in overseeing and managing engineering projects across various locations, including our repair shop in Coteau-du-Lac and our manufacturing facility in Hamilton. This position requires a strong mechanical engineering background, proficiency in reading technical drawings, and strong project management skills.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage engineering projects from inception to completion.
Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.
Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions.
Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and requirements.
Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team.
Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for projects.
Liaise with internal departments, clients, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
Prepare and present project updates, reports, and technical documentation.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
Ensure all projects comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
Conduct quality assurance and control inspections throughout project phases.
Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation.
Contribute to the development of new products and services.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field preferred; relevant experience and certifications considered.
Project management experience.
Knowledge or prior experience in the railway industry is an asset.
Proficiency in CAD/SolidWorks design platforms.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Ability to convey technical product information to diverse audiences.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering schematics, drawings, specifications, and standards.
Strong relationship-building skills, internally and externally.
Effective time management and task prioritization abilities.
