Ledcor is pursuing a Project Engineer with a background in Engineering Services During Construction (ESDC) on alternative delivery Infrastructure projects. Our Infrastructure division is expanding and working on some very exciting projects. Interacting with a wide range of operations and project staff at all levels, you will provide technical support in the implementation of project and divisional management plans to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Essential Responsibilities:
Review and manage Site Queries (SQs) from the field, acting as the key interface between design consultants and construction teams to ensure timely resolution of issues in compliance with the contractual requirements
Manage the review, distribution, and filing of Approved for Construction (AFC) drawings and maintains current versions by incorporating updates from Site Queries (SQs) and Design Change Notices (DCNs) to ensure construction teams use the latest information
Control the project budget for Engineering Services During Construction (ESDC), including weekly tracking of consultant fees to support forecasting and trend analysis; recommends project process improvements and optimizations based on observed trends
Conduct routine site visits with construction teams to support engineering issue resolution and identify schedule-critical tasks, enabling prioritization of the design consultant's ESDC resources
Manage junior design coordinators including allocation of tasks and review of work to ensure ESDC project objectives are met
Qualifications:
Design-build or other alternative delivery model experience is required
Registration with APEGA (Member in Training or Professional Member) considered an asset
5+ years in Design or Construction coordination, or similar
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
Strong communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal and written form
Strong computer background including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Smartsheet considered an asset)
Knowledge of main construction office processes: project set up; subcontract management; change management; RFIs (request for information) and technical reviews; project closeout
Experience with construction planning and management software is an asset (Aconex, InEight, etc.)
Ability to identify problems/issues and generates solutions and makes sound decisions using standard procedures
