Project Engineer

The main role of the Project Engineer will be to assist with the installation and integration of a piece of packaging equipment into the facility. The individual will work closely with a sr engineer to ensure successful implementation and operation of the equipment.
Responsibilities

  • Understand how the piece of equipment works and how it is used to write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors to help with the installation of the equipment.
  • Write Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ) documentation and execute them.
  • Help with planning maintenance on the equipment.
  • Train operators on how to use the machine.
  • Be responsible for the specification, procurement, installation, commissioning, qualification, and hand-over of capital and change projects.
  • Select and manage professional consultants, contractors, and suppliers when required for capital and change project implementation.
  • Develop capital project requirements, resource allocation, and plans to meet capital program goals.
  • Monitor projects for variance in scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
  • Communicate project status to front-line personnel through to sr management.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in equipment engineering.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Experience in project engineering.
  • Proficiency in writing IQ/OQ documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
  • GMP experience in the pharmaceutical or food and beverage industry.
  • Experience as a Project Engineer or Equipment Engineer, specifically in the qualification and installation of packaging equipment.
  • Experience with documentation practices such as writing user requirements, documentation for Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), equipment qualification and verification, and change control documentation.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
