Project Engineer



Gas Liquids Engineering (GLE) is a well-established, privately-owned engineering firm providing EPCM services to the energy industry, including project management, engineering, drafting and design, procurement, construction management and regulatory services. GLE's specialties include natural gas processing, CCUS (carbon capture, utilization and sequestration) and power generation.

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our team and contribute to a diverse range of challenging and innovative projects in natural gas, oil, fractionation, carbon sequestration, hydrogen generation, and transmission.

As a member of our project team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Lead the design and development of projects in gas processing, oil, fractionation, carbon sequestration, hydrogen generation, and transmission. Manage and support the preparation of technical deliverables and drawings such as Design Basis Memoranda (DBMs), P&IDs, and PFDs across various disciplines. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, internal teams, and vendors. Ensure that project objectives, deliverables, budgets, and schedules are met. Serve as a technical point of contact for clients and coordinate between engineering and drafting teams. Assemble and maintain progress reports, technical documentation, and project tracking tools. Expedite drawings and deliverables to meet project milestones. Participate in plant design, layout, and equipment sizing and specifications. Assist in sourcing materials and equipment packages. Develop project schedules and cost estimates (with or without dedicated schedulers/estimators). Organize and lead meetings, record minutes, and follow up on action items. Support the Project Manager with day-to-day project management activities. Contribute to proposal development alongside Project Managers and the Business Development team. Deliver technical excellence and efficiency that adds value for our clients.

Requirements



Bachelor's degree in engineering. P.Eng. in good standing with a Canadian engineering regulator, e.g. APEGA, EGBC, APEGS, or EGMB. Minimum 4 years of EPCM or relevant project engineering or project management experience. Proven experience leading engineering and execution of natural gas processing projects with TIC values ranging from approximately $20MM to $500MM. Experience with refrigeration, amine sweetening, natural gas compression, separation, and modular piping systems. Experience with deep-cut or turboexpander plants is an asset. Background in oil and gas or process facilities is an asset. Knowledge of processing equipment, including separation, compression, pumps, and distillation systems is preferred. Understanding of project controls, procurement, and change management processes. Familiarity with regulatory processes in Western Canada. Strong analytical and engineering problem solving skills. Excellent organizational, communication, and technical writing skills. Ability to work and adapt in a flexible, fast-paced environment. Occasional travel to facilities may be required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
Pay is commensurate with experience.
