We are currently seeking an Intermediate Project Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis (40 hours a week).

Role



The Intermediate Project Manager (PE) is responsible for coordinating all project disciplines to provide a complete engineering design that is self-consistent, fit for the purpose intended, commercially viable, on schedule, on budget, and documented to the degree necessary to be defendable and verifiable.

The individual within this role will be able to adapt to various situations quickly while maintaining the highest level of professionalism. The individual will possess strong trouble shooting abilities and be able to formulate comprehensive strategies for resolving technical and project challenges.

This is an in-office role based in Calgary, Alberta. Candidates must reside in the Calgary area or be in the process of relocating.



Areas of Accountability



The Project Engineer will be responsible for project execution, including:

Leading meetings, maintain RAIL, and take meeting minutes. Managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards. Assisting the project controller with labour forecasting, project schedules, and earned-value. Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients, contractors, and team members, and providing regular Project status updates to stakeholders. Monitoring and reporting on Project progress, identifying and resolving issues and risks as they arise. Providing guidance to the technical team.

Providing stamping/authentication on drawings, reports, and other project deliverables is a requirement.

Maintaining overall project QA/QC & performance. Interfacing with customers and vendors on technical issues. Producing or leading the production of detailed design documentation that meet the technical and quality standards of the project requirements, Supporting proposal development and participating in customer presentations as required. Sharing lessons learned, risks, and opportunities with other team members. Making decisions and recommendations within established guidelines, procedures, or policies. Preparing technical or project reports.

Qualification Requirements



The ideal candidate will possess:

Education

: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Certifications

:

P.Eng is required for the province of Alberta (APEGA).

British Columbia (EGBC) registration is considered an asset.

Experience:

Minimum of 4 years in technical engineering or project engineering, with a strong focus on managing multiple, concurrent projects ranging in scope from $1M-$50M TIC or $50,000 - $500,000 in engineering services.

Industry Knowledge:

Familiarity with industrial/facilities engineering: process systems, piping, equipment installation, power distribution, PLC/DCS/SCADA systems, commissioning practices, and construction methodologies is preferred

Technical Expertise:

Solid understanding of EIC or Mechanical engineering principles, including design and construction processes.

Project Management Skills:

Ability to manage 5-10 small projects at a time, with effective prioritization and organizational skills.

Site Travel:

Availability for site visits across Canada and the USA, typically 1-2 times per quarter.

Communication Skills

: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong command of English, both written and verbal.

Attention to Detail

: Highly organized, with strong problem-solving, analytical, and attention-to-detail capabilities.

Pay: $93,600.00-$108,160.00 per year
