The candidate will be accountable for Project Engineering assignments, which meet Customers, Industry and Company requirements and standards. As a member of the Project team, the Project Engineer is responsible for all technical aspects of the project. Projects will typically be rotating equipment, their drives and accessories. They will review designs, prepare and review documentation, and resolve any technical issues with suppliers or customers.
Duties/Responsibilities
The position is responsible for maximizing quality, delivery, and service performance of assigned Engineering Department tasks.
Ensure adherence to Customer specifications.
Ensure adherence to Industry standards and codes.
Ensure adherence to Company standards and specifications.
Ensure adherence to Company design and engineering processes.
Safety Responsibilities
Do everything reasonable to ensure the health and safety of themselves and co-workers.
Maintain cyclical and as required safety tasks as directed by the health and safety program and jurisdictional health and safety legislation.
Regularly communicate with employees regarding occupational health and safety, observing performance for compliance to the program.
Immediately notify and liaise with the Health and safety department regarding OH&S visits inspection or inquiries and health or safety related incidents.
Required Qualifications
3 years industry experience in a technical capacity, in a manufacturing environment.
Good knowledge of industry standards such as API, ASME, CWB, OH&S, ANSI, etc.
Excellent computer skills, familiarity with CAD and engineering software.
Experienced with piping line class specification, line list development and specialty items required.
Experience reviewing and ISO's and piping plans and sections.
Ability to manage multiple small projects and direct other professionals.
Good understanding of manufacturing (fabrication, machining and assembly) processes.
Previous experience with pumps and compressors an asset.
Must have the ability to work within a multi-discipline engineering team. The incumbent will be working with sales, operations and procurement groups as well as vendors to produce manufacturing ready packages.
Excellent organizational skills.
Good communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities (theoretical and practical) and can work with minimum supervision.
Required Certifications & Training
P. Eng. with Alberta registration or CET.
Work Conditions
Travel may be required.
Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
Lifting or moving up to 10 lbs.
