The Project Engineer provides technical expertise for the ABB Automation business and supports the automation engineering and design - conceptual design, detailed design, testing with possible pre-commissioning and commissioning support, as well as site visits.
Your responsibilities

  • DCS control system panel design
  • Custom control panels/boards engineering and design
  • Computer server and network panel design
  • Control/electrical systems upgrading (engineering documentation preparation)
  • Field instrumentation, cabling, installation and loop drawing engineering and design
  • Development of design briefs drawings and other related documentation for hardware, panels, and contract documents
  • Material specification and procurement for DCS control panels
  • Panel shop assembly coordination and inspections
  • Control system hardware test plan development and execution including developing testing logic as needed
  • Participating in customer witness testing and system testing and commissioning at customer sites as required
  • Coordination and project monitoring skills as well as scheduling activities on projects while working on a project engineering team
Your background
  • Engineering degree program and developing towards professional status
  • Self-Motivated, Quick Learning and career interest in Engineering
  • Good technical background in electrical, instrumentation, panel design and Canadian codes and standards
  • Computer skills (excel or database skills)
  • Proficient in AutoCad, AutoCad electric
