As part of the Project Delivery team, you will be responsible to provide consultation, direction, and guidance regarding project management and complex engineering issues. What You Will Do
--------------------
You will report to the Chief Project Manager, and you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of the assigned multi-year, multi-discipline, large scale Project(s). You will be accountable for ensuring the delivery of the project(s) phases within scope, on-time, on-budget, with required quality, and in compliance with TTC' s design standards and other operational requirements. The Project Director oversees a team of Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Program Managers, and their respective teams.
This also includes the folllowing:
Liaise with senior TTC staff, senior staff at other party from external stakeholders (i.e. government agencies ), senior governmental staff, and elected officials to ensure requirements and risks are identified, coordinated, addressed, and monitored.
Ensure TTC design standards and applicable municipal, provincial and federal regulations are met.
Participate in various meetings including working group, Board, City Council and public meetings to present recommendations, address issues, and/or discuss project details as required.
Work in partnership with other TTC departments and parties to oversee construction contract award, administration, and management; ensures adherence to contractual documents and oversees approval process for changes in contract specifications and conditions.
Oversee construction phase by providing leadership to project staff and managing project management activity to ensure work is delivered on-time, on-budget, with appropriate safety measures, and in coordination with other external stakeholders (i.e. government agencies ) as required.
Ensure that quality assurance/quality control procedures are implemented and followed at all phases of the project in accordance with Group procedures.
Collaborate with other TTC departments and various external stakeholders to seek solutions to operational service issues, ensure minimal disruption and integration of transit.
Ensure timely reporting of financial and performance results including schedule, safety, human resources, and other management issues to TTC and government officials as appropriate.
Promotes a respectful work and service environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and is free from harassment and discrimination. Educational and Professional Requirements:
Licensed with the PEO as a P.Eng, supported by a University Degree, or similar professional education and accreditation, with eligibility for licensure in Ontario.
PMP certification is an asset, reflecting extensive project management experience.
Experience:
Significant, directly related experience at a senior management level within a large transit or engineering organization, focusing on the design and construction of major transit systems and facilities.
Knowledge and Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of current engineering and construction principles, methods, and practices related to the design, operations, and maintenance of large-scale transit systems and facilities.
Proven ability to coordinate and manage diverse staff, ensuring safety, quality, budget, and schedule adherence.
In-depth understanding of business administration, fiscal concepts, and human relations, including relevant legislation and regulations.
Strong grasp of municipal and community issues impacting urban transit projects and services.
Excellent judgment, planning, organizational, and leadership skills.
Superior negotiation and facilitation abilities.
Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Proficiency in office technology, software, and applications relevant to the role.
Additional Requirements:
Province of Ontario Class G license for project site visits.
