What you'll be doing

The Project Director is a seasoned professional responsible for leading a team of project managers along with defined projects and programs from end to end for large strategically focused and may be product, channel, business development or legal and regulatory in nature. The role applies leadership skills and technical expertise to develop detailed business cases outlining goals, terms of reference and resource requirements, including a detailed cost-benefit analysis. The Project Director exercises a high degree of independent judgement to develop and implement processes for projects, ensuring consistency with organizational objectives and quality standards. The role recommends policy and procedures related modifications to direct the entire project life cycle and monitor progress against plans, ensuring that stakeholders are actively engaged in the delivery of project objectives. The role drives innovation across all areas of responsibility, applying expert interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

How you'll succeed

  • Provide support to initiative planning - Assisting in the process of identification and prioritization of initiatives within Risk Management, Regulatory and Compliance in order to support overall business strategy.
  • Manage the day-to-day project activities - Supporting complex projects within Mortgage and Personal Lending as well as Basil 3 compliance requirements dealing with the development, integration and deployment of cross-functional enterprise solutions
  • Review, access and approve - Provide options and proposals regarding developments/enhancements for projects, products or services and make recommendations to management regarding their impact, effectiveness, feasibility and alignment to overall business strategies.
  • Develop and obtain approval - On business cases outlining the project goals, term of reference, manpower and resource requirements and associated costs and a detailed cost benefit analysis.
  • Manage the full systems - Development life cycle of assigned projects to ensure comprehensive, timely and high quality outcomes of assigned projects.
  • Relationship management - Develop and manage strong relationships with internal and external partners. Identify and engage all key stakeholders, contributors and business and technical resources that must participate in a project and ensure that contributors are motivated to complete assigned tasks within the parameters of the project plan.
  • Create project plans - Using tools such as Agile, Waterfall and Planview to facilitate task listing, assignments, tracking and modification to ensure business requirements are completely satisfied, on time and within budget.
  • Produce executive reports - For assigned project keep management apprised of project status, major issues, scope changes, resource changes and milestone achievements or misses.
  • Facilitate regular project meeting - Follow up with team members, as required, to focus on business and operational issues or technical issues. Document, assign and monitor all projects issues to ensure clearance with minimal impact to project progress.
  • Project delivery and review - Develop and implement process for projects, new or modified projects or services including user feedback and acceptance and ensuring consistency with organizational objectives and standards of quality.
  • Act as business sponsor - Representative for projects where required, monitor projects from a product perspective to ensure approved projects are completed successfully, on time and on budget. Monitor of benefits realization in post-implementation
  • Strategy Development - Participate and contribute to the development of policy and strategy for Risk Management and Promote an environment where innovative solutions are employed to ensure efficient, timely problem resolutions, which meet business needs and regulatory requirements.
