Position: Landscaper/horticulturist - Project designer and estimator Start date: ASAP Where: ByNatureDesign, 20 Ashwarren road, North York www.bynaturedesign.ca Hours: 8.30am \xe2\x80\x93 4.30pm. 40hrs/week. Growing steadily since 2012, ByNature now has two offices (Vancouver and Toronto) and a team of 15+ designers, horticulturists and production assistants with an enthusiasm for plants. We are looking for somebody with a landscape or horticulture background and possibly some knowledge or interest in design. design and horticultural background to embrace ByNature\xe2\x80\x99s vision and be part of a growing business located in one of the greenest offices in Toronto. Description You will be working directly with our CEO, managing new projects in Eastern Canada. In charge of projects from start to finish, your tasks include but are not limited to: estimation, site visits/consult, design (renderings), follow-ups, and on occasion site supervision throughout project installations. We are looking for somebody who is a quick-learner, multitasker, meticulous, trustworthy, independent, responsible, professional and with a background in design (particularly landscape design). • Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a valid work permit.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word & Excel) and with one or more of the following design editing softwares: CAD, Sketchup, Photoshop).
• Landscape/horticultural training or experience.

The following skills would be an asset:

• Bilingual English/French.
• Management skills.

Tasks & Responsibilities Internally, you will be handling projects autonomously. You will be required to handle project inquiries coming from designers, architects and residential clients. You will work closely with our CEO and sales team (including our Vancouver staff) to ensure that all new projects are handled professionally and completed successfully. The position consists of the following tasks:

• Project Management
• Project Administration
• Client Services
• Sales/Estimation
• Design/Consultation

Eligibility Requirements:

• Excellent computer and design skills
• Plant and/or horticultural background
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task/prioritize work
• Strong organizational skills with great common sense
• Proactive and able to adapt to unexpected issues or requests on the fly
• Quick learner and resourceful
• Must be discreet, courteous, reliable, diligent and be able to work independently or in a team environment
• Great leadership skills
