Project Coordinator/estimator

Job Description

The Prairie Crane Group of Companies is looking for an eager member to join the team within a Project Coordinator/Estimator role. The PC Group encompasses Prairie Crane, Alpine Transport and Rigging, and NCCHD. As a locally owned and operated Group continuing to expand within the industry, we value each team member and offer career based positions. This person must be willing to work within a team setting and have the ability to work within a fast paced work environment to adapt to on-going jobs and projects. Some experience is necessary, but training will also be provided in company specific areas as needed.

Tasks

Assist the Operations Coordinator, Operations Manager, and General Manager with projects from beginning through execution to close out

-Administrative and technical support - estimating, costs and budgeting, scheduling, safety, job execution and performance

-Maintain site schedules for multiple units and field personnel

-Coordinate requirements for jobs with field staff and client personnel

-Assist and work alongside the HSE Supervisor as needed

-Collect and maintain documentation throughout projects (i.e. billing paperwork, vendor tracking, etc.)

Review bid documents to complete job estimates for cranes, transport, and jack & slide work

-Includes a range from single page quotations to full scale bid packages and pre-qualification documentation

Develop and maintain relationships with peers and trade partners/clients

Utilize programs such as Microsoft, Visual Dispatch, and Site Docs

Assist all companies with tasks such as coordinating with the mechanic division to ensure equipment is prepped for jobs

Qualifications

Knowledge of the construction industry (including equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, and safety), 2-3 years experience preferred

Experience within the crane and transport fields or hands-on experience within the construction industry is an asset

Diploma in construction management or a related field is an asset

Ability to apply problem solving principles to job challenges and present solutions

Ability to create schedules and maintain such schedules throughout job and timeline changes

Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Computer skills within Microsoft Office Suite and strong aptitude for adopting new technology
