ROLE SUMMARY:
Reporting to Operations Management, the Project Coordinator/Estimator is responsible for providing quotations and lead time to Client requests while ensuring all information is obtained and requirements fulfilled. Become very familiar with the costs of goods and services for the industry, account for variances in materials and labour costs, and calculate for common challenges that may arise during a project to provide accurate estimations.
This is achieved by having an effective resource management process and communication with:
Client - ensuring all customer requirements and expectations are understood
Vendor - sourcing material costing and delivery requirements
Production Dept - scheduling and labour costing
Quality Dept - communicating Quality Program and documentation requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support and work to the requirements of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and N299.3 Quality Assurance Program
Receive RFQ via verbal, written and/or electronic requests
Review RFQ terms/conditions/requirements/resources to fully understand the project
Determine if client request can be fulfilled (e.g. OTD, Company capabilities, etc.)
Identify labour & material costs by analyzing blueprints, and related documents.
Collaborate with clients, vendors, engineers during estimate creation
Provide estimates in an efficient and professional manner
Recommend cost-reduction options
Respond to client requests outside of RFQ
Recommend cost-reduction options
Client follow-up for quote acceptance
Build relationships with current and potential Clients
Receive, acknowledge and confirm acceptance of Client Purchase Orders
Participate in kick off meetings as required
Roll accepted quotations to Work Order
Responsible for procurement and purchasing activities on assigned projects
Release Work Orders to production
Assist/support production with requests or questions on the order
Review Work Orders for closing
Produce reports as required for Management
Maintain thorough records of all project documentation and communication
Maintain multiple projects simultaneously
Cross-train (as applicable) with Material Controller, Quality Assurance, Production Coordinator
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION
Previous experience in an Estimator or similar role an asset
Blueprint reading skills/interpretation an asset
Experience with manufacturing processes (fabricating, welding, machining) an asset
