We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Project Estimator-Administrative Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze project specifications and effectively negotiate pricing.
Duties
Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and overhead.
Utilize software tools such as Jobber and CounterGo (Moraware) to create accurate estimates and manage project documentation.
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to understand project requirements and specifications.
Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
Analyze blueprints and drawings to determine project scope and identify potential challenges.
Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible rates for materials and services.
Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and contracts for future reference.
Provide ongoing support during the bidding process, including responding to inquiries from clients or contractors.
Estimating residential and several multi-unit commercial projects with blueprints and elevations per week.
Determining material needs for each project
Preparing custom cost estimates and submitting to contracting companies.
Coordinating and managing several calendars.
Addressing and solving project deficiencies in a timely manner.
Coordinating production timelines to meet project timelines.
Arranging travel plans for out of town installers.
Collaborating with site supervisors and/or home owners to ensure sites are prepared to receive our team.
Arranging stock transfers.
Experience
Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
Proficiency in using estimating software such as Jobber and CounterGo (Moraware)is desirable.
Strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate pricing assessments.
Ability to effectively communicate with team members, clients, and subcontractors.
Experience in negotiating contracts and pricing is a plus.
A background in construction or engineering is beneficial but not mandatory.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
