Building Technologies Consulting Inc. (BTC Group) is a rapidly growing Building Science Engineering firm that specializes in capital asset management of existing building portfolios for Institutional, Commercial and Industrial (ICI) property owners. Our fields of expertise include, roofing, cladding, glazing and curtain wall, below-grade waterproofing, asphalt pavement systems, concrete restoration and other building envelope related fields of expertise.
Our group of experienced technical personnel provides owners with architectural design reviews and timely field reviews to assist with new construction projects. With existing building portfolio, we provide failure investigations, guide owners through timely asset maintenance and repairs and provide optimized engineering design solutions for rehabilitation projects.
BTC Group is privately owned. The head office is located in Ottawa, with offices in the GTA, Nova Scotia and in Calgary (Alberta BTC Group). In addition, BTC Group currently manages work across Canada, and could potentially expand into other Canadian markets. BTC Group has an immediate opening for a
Project Coordinator/Admin Assistant
in our Calgary office, to assist technical personnel with coordination, reporting and administration tasks required for the above.
The successful candidate will be a responsible, motivated and highly organized administrative professional with proven communication skills, both written and verbal.
Essential Job Functions
Alberta BTC Group - Project Coordinator - Overseeing of:
Prepare and send proposals, reports, letters, and all project correspondence
Assist Project Managers with preparation of all Tender Packages and Contract Administration Documentation (Progress Billing review, Change Order Approvals, other) as per NMS and CCDC documentation guidelines
Coordinate site meetings, sub-contractors, site access for investigations
Maintain project tracking tools
Coordinate project timelines with Senior Management, Project Managers and Clients
Coordinate communications to our clients
Follow office protocols for project start-up, document preparation, filing and invoicing
Various Other Duties
Preparation and distribution of written communication to clients
Non-essential Job Functions
Other general admin tasks
Requirements
Advanced MS Office skills
Basic QuickBooks/accounting knowledge
Knowledge of commercial construction practices
English, written and spoken - Bilingual preferred (French).
General knowledge of construction processes as they relate to building envelope
Experience with CCDC documents and Contract processes.
Other Skills/Abilities
Pleasant personality and demeanor for greeting staff, clients, and vendors.
Ability to reassure concerned clients in difficult times.
