Position Summary
The Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating a new employment training project and supporting CMWI's employment programs and The Cutting Edge social enterprise. The role focuses on communications, event planning, participant registration, reporting, and social media management. The Project Coordinator works closely with staff, instructors, speakers, management, and community partners to ensure smooth project delivery while promoting the achievements of participants and the goals of CMWI.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Coordination and Communication
Act as the main point of contact for project participants, staff, partners, and community stakeholders
Support participant recruitment and registration for the employment programs
Prepare project schedules, reminders, and communication materials for participants
Coordinate with instructors, guest speakers, and facilitators to ensure smooth delivery of workshops and activities
Event Planning and Promotion
Organize project events including workshops, individual sessions, and community events
Manage events logistics including space booking, invitations, set-up, and guest coordination
Work with staff to highlight participants' work and achievements at events and exhibitions
Social Media and Outreach
Manage social media accounts for the project, the social enterprise, and the organization
Develop engaging content to showcase project activities, participant achievements, and community events
Support promotional campaigns for participant recruitment and community awareness
Reporting and Administration
Maintain accurate participant records, registration lists, and attendance tracking
Collect feedback from participants and support project evaluation
Responsible for data entry, reports, and updates for funders and management
Ensure project visibility through timely reporting of outcomes and success stories
Qualifications
Solid experience in planning and coordinating projects, events, and community programs
Proven experience with social media management and online promotion
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging social media content
Client-focused, with ability to work effectively with newcomer women from diverse cultural backgrounds
Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
Knowledge of settlement services and community organizations is an asset
Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media tools)
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Non-judgmental and accepting attitude, with the ability to maintain confidentiality
This position requires the successful completion of a Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector.
