The Project Coordinator at Atkinson Construction is responsible for assisting in the management and coordination of various construction projects, ensuring they progress smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Permit and Service Applications:
Submit applications for development and building permits, and apply for temporary and permanent services (Gas, Power, Telus, Water, Sewer).
Documentation Management:
Collaborate in the creation of project documents with Engineering, Estimating, and Design teams. Set up and provide project documents for Site Supervisors.
Insurance Coordination:
Work with accounting/management to set up proper site insurances prior to project commencement.
Contractor Management:
Assist in hiring Trade Contractors and reviewing shop drawings submitted by trades.
Project Progress Monitoring:
Support in driving the project forward to meet deadlines, performance, and quality goals.
Change Order Management:
Issue and manage change orders to trades and owners as required.
Material Coordination:
Order materials and coordinate with Supervisors for onsite delivery.
Meeting Organization:
Arrange meetings for project design and drawing details to foresee potential problems.
Site Supervision Support:
Help in overseeing work done by Sub trades and ACL staff during site visits.
Financial Reporting:
Assist in setting up project billing documents and updating progress claims.
Safety Compliance:
Support ACL Safety in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining site records.
Communication and Coordination:
Act as an Office contact, keep in touch with ACL Safety, update contact sheets, and maintain project binders.

High level of organizational skills to manage multiple aspects of construction projects.
Technical Knowledge:
Basic understanding of construction processes and the ability to read blueprints.
