Position Summary
The Construction Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day activities of construction projects, ensuring that all phases are completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. This role involves working closely with project managers, contractors, suppliers, and other team members to maintain smooth workflow and clear communication. The Construction Coordinator is responsible for tracking project progress, scheduling resources, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and troubleshooting any issues that arise during the project. Additionally, they support budgeting and manage project documentation.
This is a full-time, permanent position.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Project Coordination: Assist in the planning and scheduling of construction activities, ensuring smooth workflow between contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
Documentation Management: Maintain and organize project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings, RFIs (Request for Information), and change orders.
Communication: Serve as a liaison between project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure timely and accurate flow of information.
Schedule Management: Track project schedules, identify potential delays, and coordinate with teams to mitigate risks and ensure project deadlines are met.
Subcontractor Coordination: Support the project manager in coordinating subcontractor activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
Procurement: Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment by managing purchase orders, verifying deliveries, and tracking inventory levels.
Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction, escalating to the project manager when necessary.
Seeking and verifying projects for optimal competitive pricing from suppliers and appropriate sub-trades, as needed ensuring maximizing value engineering opportunities.
Outlining and proactively communicating project requirements and timelines
Finalizing contracts that meet client requirements
Working with the Project/Sales Teams to map out the project timeline and schedules
Preparing construction agreements, schedules & budgets
Proactively communicating project progress and requirements and addresses any concerns
Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by your manager
Required Education, Knowledge, and Experience
5+ Years of previous coordinator experience in the flooring and tiling industry.
Degree from Engineering or Business discipline (preferred)
English, strong business written and verbal proficiency
1-2 years in a construction, project coordination, or similar role. Experience in construction management, on-site project roles, or subcontractor coordination is preferred.
Hands-on experience in construction processes, safety protocols, and understanding of industry-specific documentation (such as permits, safety procedures, blueprints, and scheduling)
Proven experience coordinating schedules, resources, and communication across project teams, suppliers, and contractors. Prior experience working on project timelines and managing budgets is also valuable.
Proficiency in project management and construction-related software, such as Plan swift, Procore, or other scheduling tools.
