The Role: Project Coordinator Responsible for assisting the Project Manager in the administration of project cost and scheduling systems, the Project Coordinator will coordinate the efforts of all other staff assigned to site. They will perform estimating functions for changes and addenda and supervise the document and shop drawing control system while ensuring the smooth flow of information between the design team, consultants, and contractors. What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Do: \xc2\xb7 Plan and coordinate work on a very large or complicated project or on a major project at which exists unique problems in schedule, construction, or design \xc2\xb7 Direct as requested, engineering activities in preparation of project proposals, including estimates for engineering staffing, quantities, scope reviews, and schedules \xc2\xb7 Establish and maintain access to technical experts in the advanced technologies pertinent to the project and set up channels of communication to bring this expertise to bear effectively on the engineering effort \xc2\xb7 Provide a broad knowledge of administrative practices and skill in negotiation with representatives of the client and other organizational entities \xc2\xb7 Direct preparation of quantity listings of field purchased material and equipment \xc2\xb7 Supervise preparation of construction drawings and schedules \xc2\xb7 Supervise design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of \xe2\x80\x9cas built\xe2\x80\x9d drawings and other job plans \xc2\xb7 Assist the project staff in interpreting design drawings, monitoring equipment installation, and planning for delivery of construction materials and equipment \xc2\xb7 Review specifications, purchase orders, subcontracts, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals, and technical data to assist and advise on-site \xc2\xb7 Administer assigned subcontracts \xc2\xb7 Coordinate with the Project Manager on activities affecting the contract administration operation \xc2\xb7 Administer subcontract changes and interfaces with client personnel \xc2\xb7 Review and/or supervise, as assigned, the preparation of construction estimates, cost engineering studies, schedules, and budgets What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Need: \xc2\xb7 Degree in Architecture, an Engineering or Scientific discipline, or specialized courses in Construction Management or equivalent experience and training (Project Management certificate considered an asset) \xc2\xb7 Progressive work experience, including supervision, preferably in project and staff design engineering or architectural design (may include other relevant types of engineering including start-up and field engineering) \xc2\xb7 Technical knowledge of a specialized engineering discipline cost scheduling and/or contracts administration relating to the construction of heavy industrial or commercial complexes \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved including current knowledge of new methods of design and construction \xc2\xb7 Ability to determine the priority of assignments based on critical deadlines \xc2\xb7 Ability to resolve field-initiated questions \xc2\xb7 Written and oral communication skills \xc2\xb7 Must possess computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (experience with project management software an asset) What We\xe2\x80\x99ll Offer You: \xc2\xb7 Competitive compensation package \xc2\xb7 Collaborative but challenging work environment \xc2\xb7 Early departure on Fridays for summer months \xc2\xb7 Completely renovated office space \xc2\xb7 Free coffee every day \xc2\xb7 Frequent team bonding activities Note: This job description is not an exclusive or exhaustive list of all job functions that an employee in this position may be asked to perform from time to time.
