WORK MODEL: The successful contractor will be working remotely, though must be available for onsite meetings if required. It is anticipated that this role will be 100% remote. Work must be done from within Canada at all times due to network and data security policies. Applicants must be authorized to work in Canada to apply (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident). Standard Hours of work are 08:00 - 16:30 Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding observed holidays.

Project Name: Government Reorganization (GR) in Request for Service (RFS) Delivery Team
Request for Service (RFS) Delivery Team requires Project Coordinators to support Government Reorganization (GR) projects underway for the cabinet and ministry changes that were announced recently.
The Project Coordinator coordinates?information technology (IT)?Infrastructure teams within the Ministry of Technology and Innovation to meet the needs of business customers in Ministries across Government of Alberta.
Scope:
The project coordinator will be responsible for Government Reorganization (GR) projects.
The GR Coordinator will be leading a team in the development, implementation and execution of information technology projects or are responsible for a complex specialized area within IT. This resource will support GR and transition services for the GoA ministries undergoing government cabinet change and ministry reorganization.
GR projects involve investigating, analyzing, and coordinating the various Information Management and Technology (IMT) changes in the GoA environment that are required as a result of a change to department name and/or movement of programs, services and personnel. GR projects involve Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft file system security in the GoA environment
Communication with stakeholders and co-workers will be essential in ensuring that project deliverables meet client expectation. The position will use diverse IT expertise to operate independently on assigned work or provide guidance to others.
This role is responsible for the coordination and completion of IT projects and oversees all aspects of projects. It builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects while preparing project status reports for upper management.
GR Project Coordinator is responsible for the planning, managing, and reporting on projects that range from internal branch or divisional based projects to ones that are single ministry or multi-ministry initiated and vary in scope and size. The GR Project Coordinator will be responsible for one or more projects at any one time and will be responsible for ensuring stakeholder governance is effective, efficient, and constructively moving towards the direction of demonstrating value and benefits.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Investigate, analyze, and coordinate the various IMT changes in the GoA environment that are required as a result of a change to department name and/or movement of programs, services and personnel. GR projects involve Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft file system security in the GoA environment
Lead consultations and facilitate stakeholder meetings.
Create business requirements, functional specifications and technical requirements
Schedule, organize and lead project status meetings and other meetings as required
Create project documents and associated planning documents
Provide support by bridging communication between vendors, client ministries, and corporate technical and business teams.
Escalate unresolved issues/risks, options and recommendations.
Coordinate the implementation of IT infrastructure.
Provide oversight and coordination to ensure?projects are delivered according to specified scope, deliverables, schedule - meeting client expectations while following GoA cybersecurity?and other operational standards and processes.
Provide a weekly online status report on all?projects, communicates regularly with team members and stakeholders on all?projects, and maintains?project?documentation in the team SharePoint.
Utilize?project?management methodology and governance tools to manage resources and stakeholder engagement, ensuring effective?project?delivery and the achievement of key business objectives.
Provide tracking and reporting of time and status on all work as required.
Document technical recommendations and provide technical advice and guidance to management, operations, and project team members and within shared IT services.
Ensure change management processes are followed.
Make recommendations to project team members pertaining to issues, risks, and client satisfaction.
Collaborate with multi-disciplined teams on proof of concept and limited production roll outs.
Provide quality control on production implementations.
Communicate operation guidelines and policies to the clients.
Apply and interpret how the operation guidelines enhance the department's way of doing business.
Review new services and technology requests by business area and assess their impact on the operational environment, giving recommendations for remediation.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
- The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following (8+ years): o University graduation in business, management or a related discipline and four-year Project Coordinator experience; OR o Two-year diploma in business, management or a related discipline and six-year Project Coordinator experience; OR o One-year certificate in business, management or a related discipline and seven-year Project Coordinator experience; OR o Eight-year Project Coordinator experience
- Experience as a project coordinator leading technical teams in multiple implementation and execution of information technology projects in large enterprise IT environments (2 years+)
- Experience defining project scope and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders. (5 years+)
- Experience developing project deliverables including project charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs and project closures. (5 years+)
- Experience in a project management role. (5 years+)
- Experience coordinating IT infrastructure projects for Government of Alberta, either working directly for GoA, or for vendors supporting projects for GoA. (2 years+)
- Experience developing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships across the organization, including executive level. (5 years+)
- Experience leading and facilitating meetings with stakeholders at all levels. (4 years+)
- Experience leading change management and communication planning. (5 years+)
- Experience working in an enterprise architect environment. (4 years+)
- Experience working on projects involving Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft file system security. (1 years+)
- Experience working with Government Reorganization (IMT changes) projects within Government. (1 years+)
