The Corporate Services department requires a Temporary Full-time Project Coordinator in the Facilities division for approximately 2 years.
You will act as project liaison and coordinate design and construction work for a variety of civic buildings, facilities and projects. You will prepare reports, project specifications, schedules, budgets and related documents. As an integral part of the project management team, you will coordinate Request for Proposal processes, monitor and evaluate policy and budget issues, provide technical and project status reports, ensure conformance of projects to established guidelines and standards, and perform field inspections.
You will possess a Diploma in Interior Design or Building Technology from a technical school, supplemented by courses in project management, plus related work experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Specifically your work experience will include both large and small project management, facilities experience and the tendering process. Experience and/or education in an Engineering, Construction Trade, or Architectural field, and/or a PMP designation would be assets.
You will have considerable knowledge of BC Building Code, construction terms of reference and contracts, zoning and related municipal legislation governing the work performed. Your strong interpersonal skills will facilitate cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts. Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Office and project management software, such as MS Project, and a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License, are required.
Salary
:
$48.09 to $56.82 per hour
(Pay Grade 27 - January 2024 rates)
Hours of Work
The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately each three-week scheduling cycle.
