invites applications for a

Project Coordinator

. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 6 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.


This position reports to the Principal Investigator.


This role will support activities of the Indigenous Primary Health Care and Policy Research (IPHCPR) network, the Alberta Network Environments for Indigenous Health Research (NEIHR), and projects to co- leads, with a focus on financial management and project support.


The Project Coordinator's primary purpose is to manage financial and business processes for multiple grants, in addition to coordinating engagement and project roll-out and conducting project coordination activities under the supervision of the PI and in close collaboration with project teams that include research team members and partner organizations.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

(job functions include but are not limited to):

Financial management of multiple project grants: + This includes creating project budgets for grant competitions, developing project specific budgets and monitor activities, evaluates and amends business processes, requirements and areas of improvement, preparing financial variance reports, and documentation in collaboration with the research team and the Department of Family Medicine finance team. Accountable for accuracy and integrity of financial transactions submitted to the financial administrator for processing
Generate and monitor project timelines and milestones, and creating or contributing to communication materials for a diverse group of stakeholders Collaboratively plan project activities such as engagement sessions and documentation such as reports Responsible for coordinating access to quality data to meet project objectives Coordinator and co-design engagement and project activities Prepare communications to engage internal and external collaborators Prepare project-related communication (e.g., meeting minutes, terms of reference, questionnaires, reports, briefings, correspondence, presentations, etc.) and manage communication between various levels of collaborators and stakeholders May provide in-scope supervision Establishes and maintains effective, productive relationships with research partners, staff, peers, and senior management and with members of the broader stakeholder groups Manages own time effectively and ensures the project team is kept informed of activities, and progress of work Demonstrated strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills, and an ability to exercise judgment within established guidelines Keep office and work area clean and safe

Qualifications / Requirements:



Bachelor's Degree in a Business, Finance or Accounting required. A degree in health- or social science-related discipline will be considered Minimum 5 years of related experience A combination of education and experience will be considered; Knowledge of and experience with project management Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Internet skills Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; Demonstrated ability for professional report writing Ability to problem solve in complex situations Demonstrated strong communication, team and customer service skills, and an ability to exercise judgment within established guidelines Must be open to learning and development, and be willing to accept new challenges and assignments; A positive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are critical to success
