We're looking for a Project Controls Manager to lead our project controls initiatives across the Carlson Group. This is more than just a management role--it's a chance to shape how we plan, execute, and deliver some of the most exciting infrastructure projects in British Columbia.
Why This Role Matters
As our Project Controls Manager, you'll be the backbone of project planning and performance. You'll lead the development of master schedules, oversee project controls governance, and collaborate with project teams to ensure everything runs smoothly--from timelines and budgets to quality and reporting.
You'll also play a key role in two major strategic initiatives:
Project Controls Strategy Initiative (PCSI)
Operations Manual Strategy Initiative (OMSI)
Your insights will help shape the tools, processes, and systems that define how we work.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead project controls governance for the Group and all our ongoing projects
Drive consistent implementation of PCSI and OMSI across the group
Develop and maintain detailed master schedules
Collaborate with Project Managers to align schedules with budgets
Analyze performance and implement corrective actions
Provide timely schedule updates, forecasts, and planning input
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards
Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies
Prepare and present performance reports to stakeholders
Promote continuous improvement and best practices
What You Bring
A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
10+ years of experience in project controls within heavy civil, marine, or industrial construction
Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and ERP systems
Strong analytical and leadership skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
Experience with Earned Value Management and cost control methodologies
