WSP is currently seeking a

Project Controls Analyst

for our National Buildings Mechanical and Electrical Subsector. Under the leadership of the Project Controls Lead, this role will provide support and assistance to the Project Managers and project teams, particularly in the context of "strategic projects". The Project Controls Analyst will support the execution of project activities, including earned value management, finance and accounting, general project management, and monthly reporting.


As a member of an integral team you will be given opportunities to apply your education and experience on complex multidisciplinary projects. You will be challenged to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain very high quality. What you can expect to do here:

Collaboration:

Work closely with operation leads, project management teams, and discipline leads to achieve project goals and objectives.

Develop Integrated Plans and Project Controls:

Create, develop and maintain detailed work breakdown structures (WBS) that encompass scope, cost, schedule, and progress.

Project Execution:

Support the execution team on cost, time, schedule, change management, and reporting for successful project executions.

Budget Oversight:

Support and collaborate with Project Managers and Project Directors in both preparing and managing project budgets to ensure financial compliance and efficient resource allocation.

Monitor, Control, and Analyze Project Health:

Continuously monitor project risks and implement controls to manage them effectively. Review and analyze project information utilizing the Global Power BI, providing guidance to the execution team on project health. Identify variances in project scope, schedule, and cost, and recommend corrective actions.

Baseline Maintenance:

Establish and maintain project baselines, ensuring all team members adhere to the as-sold baselines.

Change Management:

Facilitate the change management process and continuously forecast project schedule and cost impacts.

Forecasting:

Provide accurate and timely financial and project forecasting to support decision-making, under the guidance of both Project Manager and Project Director.

Earned Value Management (EVM):

Implement EVM techniques to measure project performance and progress objectively.

Reporting:

Prepare detailed monthly/quarterly reports, including cost, schedule, earned value, change control, contract administration, and more.

What you'll bring to WSP:

Education:

Post-secondary diploma, Business, Finance or a related field.

Experience:

3-5+ years of experience in project cost management and project controls.

Collaboration:

Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including, supporting the Commercial and Risk Management (CRM) team with risk management.

Software Knowledge:

Familiarity with project management and financial software tools, such as Primavera P6 and Power BI, is beneficial.

Analytical Abilities:

Strong analytical skills to monitor and control project finances effectively.

Attention to Detail:

High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of project controls.
