Shift: 10/4 (Preferred) or 14/7

Rate:

Contractor Rate - RT $65 - 90/Hr plus 1.4 OT

Employee option is optional as well

Travel Allowance - $550 per shift

Camp and accommodation is provided

Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Specialist to join the Project Controls team on a large lump-sum oil & gas project in Fort McMurray Alberta. The successful candidate will lead schedule, cost and reporting activities to ensure the project is delivered to time and budget under a fixed?price contract. This role requires strong technical project-controls skills, solid commercial awareness, and experience working with contractors in lump-sum/EPC environments.

Key Responsibilities

Work with Project Manager and PMT to draft a proposal against bidding documents Work with Scheduler to develop and maintain the project baseline schedule and resourceloaded shortterm lookahead schedules (Primavera P6 / MS Project) Work with team to identify potential risks during project and review Terms & Conditions for contract Work with Construction Manager, office and indirect to control all cost during execution of entire project Lead indirect team to identify and track all Change Order during execution Produce regular schedule updates, criticalpath analysis, variance analysis and recovery plans. Implement and maintain cost control systems: WBS, cost codes, forecasting, earned value (EVM) and change management. Prepare monthly cost and schedule reports, KPIs, forecasts and executive dashboards for project leadership and owners. Monitor contractor performance against contractual milestones and payment milestones; support claims/change order evaluations. Integrate procurement, construction and commissioning schedules; maintain consolidated master schedule. Maintain risk and opportunity registers, perform schedule and cost risk analysis (Monte Carlo where appropriate). Support progress measurement, quantity tracking and input for progress claims and invoices. Configure and maintain project controls tools (SAP, Oracle/Primavera P6, Aconex/Bentley/SharePoint or equivalent). Coordinate cross-discipline input, host project controls meetings, and communicate status to multi-disciplinary teams. Support lessons-learned, forecasting models and continuous improvement of project controls processes.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Finance or related discipline. 10+ years' progressive project controls experience; 5+ years on large oil & gas EPC/lump-sum projects preferred. Strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project; familiarity with SAP, Oracle, or other cost systems. Demonstrated knowledge of Earned Value Management, WBS development, cost forecasting, and schedule risk analysis. Experience managing contractor interfaces, change management and claims in lump-sum contracts. Excellent Excel skills and experience producing executive dashboards and KPI reports. Professional certifications an asset: PSP, PMI-SP, PMP, EVM Certification. Valid driver's license; ability to travel to remote sites and work in camp conditions as required.

EPC contractor background and experience with multidiscipline teams. Prior experience on oil sands projects or Fort McMurray region.
