POSITION OVERVIEW
The Project Controller, Engineering, is responsible for the entire financial cycle of Kruger's major industrial projects (ranging from $50M to over $1B), including the full preparation of financial statements for project entities, budget governance, risk analysis, and strategic support to project teams and senior management.
Acting as the financial lead for entities under construction over a two- to three-year horizon, the incumbent ensures the accuracy of financial information provided to external stakeholders (banks, investors, funding agencies) and the integration of financial statements for internal consolidation within corporate systems (Controller).
The incumbent also plays a key role as a guardian of best practices in project control, supporting Kruger's various divisions in implementing and maintaining standards, processes, and tools that enable consistent and rigorous project governance, even when not directly involved in smaller-scale projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement and maintain all financial controls, processes, and tools required to ensure rigorous management of costs, budgets, and commitments.
Prepare complete financial statements for project entities in accordance with corporate (IFRS), banking, and government requirements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements.
Prepare audit files required by our partners, including government grant programs such as IFIT, SIF, NGen, Technoclimat, etc.
Ensure that the management and processing of financial information are conducted systematically and efficiently to enable strict administration of the project's budget and costs.
Manage and monitor the use of contingencies and special allocations, ensuring compliance with internal policies regarding their use and that approvals are documented as required.
Establish, update, and revise budgets, forecasts, and risk analyses for major projects.
Coordinate and review month-end financial reports to ensure integrity and accuracy of information.
Coordinate the relationship between banks and the corporate team.
Ensure compliance with contractual, banking, and legal requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
CPA accounting designation
EXPERIENCE
Seven to ten years of experience in project control, investment finance, or audit and financial control, ideally in an industrial or major construction environment.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and solid understanding of ERP systems (JD Edwards, SAP)

Organized and reliable, detail-oriented, and thorough.
Team player, able to manage priorities.
LANGUAGES
Bilingual (French and English), both spoken and written.
Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them.
